That seems to be an advantage in their justice system. Quick justice.

==If it actually happens in the next thirty days then you are right. The problem we have is that we go to execute someone twenty years after the crime. By that point why not just transfer it to life in prison? It makes no sense to wait that long. If the evidence is solid, let the appeals process take a reasonable amount of time, then carry out the sentence. It should take no more than two years. After five years it should be changed to life.

I don't believe it - I still say he will be sneaked out of the country to go live in exile somewhere in opulence....probably Madame Trousseau wax museum artisans are working on his dead likeness as we speak....

While I am saddened about his destiny, he will be going where we all deserve to go.

Does he deserve to go to hell? You bet.

Do we here at the BB deserve to go to hell? Right along with him.

The best that we as christians who have been saved from hell is to spend the next 30 days in prayer for his immortal soul. En masse.

I wonder if his friend will go and say goodbye?

Either way, spot on post Scarlett. I pray Saddam will meet God before he goes to meet Him. Same deal with Osama, and just generally everyone everywhere because we are all in the same boat as them without God.

Shortly after he was captured, Saddam was asked, "How can you face God?" Saddam Hussein replied, "With calm in my heart." Saddam apparently doesn't think he's going to hell.

Ramsey Clark? George Galloway? Or someone officially "Baath"?

Hmmm...I've always thought 00:01, January 1, 2007, Baghdad time, would be the perfect time for the execution. Symbolism, you know. Seems that may be the case:

    http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/12/28/061228210755.xn7c2r86.html

Predicatbly, he's trying to forestall the inevitable by trying to rally "all the international and legal organizations, the United Nations secretary-general, the Arab League and all the leaders of the world" to stop the mean old USA/Iraq from hanging Precious. Where were they when Saddam was in power?

The Fox News radio station here in Houston, Texas said he would be executed today before 6:00 PM Central time. That's just under an hour away.

It just magnifies the abject hypocrasy of the US of A government. Just a few years ago, they financed and armed this same man to wreak havoc upon Iran and kill those nasty people. He did as he was told.

Now he is a criminal because he killed more people with the same weaponry he received freely from the US of A. Now the government and the people can gloat over the execution of this man.

For shame! For shame! Get back in Afghanistan where the real war is, and where the elected people of the country actually want us.

    Cheers,

    Jim

It seems that at least half of the people approved of the Iraq war enough to re-elect the Commander in Cheif.

This country has often used undesierables to control or get rid of even more undesierables. For example

We funded OBL to fight against the Soviets in Afganistan where you urge us to get back to.

And in WW2 we teamed up with the Soviets to beat Hittler.

Wow! I cannot believe. It is happening so quick. At first, they announced that Saddam will be executed within 30 days. Now, I saw on CNN News "Larry King Live". It says, he will be executed at 10 pm (U.S. Eastern Time). My friend told me, it makes sense, because they want him to put to death BEFORE Iraq's holiday(religion festival) day come. That why, they want him to be executed right now - right away for good. But, I am sure there will much violences around Baghdad and Iraq just shortly afte rthe announcement of Saddm's execution. Wait and see in the next several days from now.

    In Christ
    Rev. 22:20 -Amen!
