I just won tickets to tonight's Game 3 of the Calder Cup finals!

Philly is about to have a new champion and I'm going to be there.

The last championship game I was at was an NLCS game in '93 and the NFC Championship game in '80.

We'll be in sec 123 if anybody's going to be there.

    Go Phantoms!

    No, hockey.

This is the AHL's championship. This is our version of the Stanley Cup.

This is what it all comes down to. All the marbles. The whole shebang. The whole nine yards and other assorted cliches.

No, seriously, this is the AHL championship series. I've been into the Phantoms since their inception back in the mid nineties.

Up until last year, we even had season tickets.

To be honest, half the time, they're better than the Flyers and several of the Flyers do double duty with them.

It's much faster, much more exciting and, on average, two to three more fighting majors per game.

Right now, we're up in the series 2-0 and I don't see why we can't win in five or even sweep.

    Just got back.

    Phantoms won 2-1.

Antero Nittymaki was brilliant, as usual, stopping 29 of 30. Look for him to be the next big NHL prospect.

The folks in front of us had a great sign that said, "Only Jesus saves more than Nittymaki".

Our seats ended up being three rows behind the Phantoms' bench. I don't think we could have asked for better.

We were so stoked that we bought tickets to Friday night's game to see them sweep.

I saw the Phantoms play a few years ago when i lived in Louisville and they still had a hockey team. They have one of the coolest logos with the little space ghost looking guy on it.
Are they still affiliated with the Flyers?

Who was that? The Thoroughblades? I used to watch them when they'd come here.

Yes, the Phantoms are still the Flyers' affiliate.

Several of the Flyers were in last night's game.

No, the Thoroughblades were in Lexington, and i think they are still playing hockey. I saw them play the Louisville Panthers during the 2 years that the Panthers were in existence.

    Hey, everybody,

I'm back and we did win the Calder Cup.

    Finally, Philly has a champion.

We went to the celebration last night and it was great.

29,000 people last night was the biggest crowd ever at the Big House, even for Flyers' playoff games.

Riley Cote, who I believe is a Christian, is rapidly becoming my second favorite Phantom.
