I need help. I have a question. If I wanted to devote my life to missions how would I do that. I mean would I need to go and make it public during the invitation or how would I do that?

Have you talked about it to your parents yet? That might be a good start.

yes, I have talked to my mom about this decision. She said that it is okay with her. My dad coudlnt care less b/c once I start studying and get a chance I'm going to witness to him but he just doesnt know it lol. But i dont know what I would need to do and how I need to do it. Im ready to do whatever He wants me to do. So I want to devote my life. Would I need to go up infront of the congregation or what?

Talk with your pastor about your decision.

I already talked to the assistant pastor/youth leader about it alittle. He is emailing some mission board for me and getting all the info about like materials and skills I would need for college and missions as a career. So after I get all that information I will probably devote my life. And I will probably talk to my pastor tomorow or maybe tuesday b/c I have to have surgery and he is coming over after and if I'm awake enough then I am going to talk to him about it. Heck you never know I may even devote my life in the recovery room lol.

Start your EDUCATION now. Spend all your energy on getting the best training. English, grammar, language, etc. Using words like "heck" (which you did in your post) would be offensive to 99% of people.

Start your MISSIONS now. Get trained and start sharing the Gospel and doing in-depth discipling of converts. Work with your church, pastors, etc. You don't "become" a missionary by going to college and seminary and traveling to a foreign country. You ARE a missionary at home and the church recognizes that gift.

Start your PRAYING now. You need to be open to the leading of God as to the field where HE may use your gifts and talents best.

    God bless you.

Now, QUIT READING THIS AND GET STARTED!

    EVERYONE,
Thanks so much. I am already thinking of sceduling a mission trip this summer (whoever suggested that). I think I might talk to the youth leader and get him to take all of us. And I'm going to call my pastor tonight. I keep putting this decision off but I am going to do it tonight. If I dont hurry up and make this decision now then I may never make it. I really can't believe it that I am going to throw my original goal of playing pro baseball away and go into the ministry. But thank everyone that gave me advise you all are alot of help. Thanks again.

I hope that you read Dr. Bob's post very, very carefully. Start now in your home town being a missionary. For some, being a missionary is going to a foreign country, but they didn't just wake up one day and decide to go. It takes training, education, and God's Will and Plan.

Praying that you travel the path that God plans.

In addition to the good suggestions above, why not begin learning a foreign language. It is a proven fact that learning another language while you are young will be a lot easier and it will put you in a position to have a ministry in the country where that language is spoken. [IMG]

Even if you later end up going to a different field, your mind will be better able to learn that third language. ;)

Now is the time to begin studying, working, ministering, and witnessing. [IMG]

    May God be with you.
