Russia, for one. Now, I don't trust Russia at all, but I think we should avoid unnecessary public offense. Secret actions are another matter.

Sorry but Russia is only out for their own. They have very little concern other than to be a world power once again. Name more.

European countries like France and Germany also come into play.

I'm not saying we should placate terrorists. I'm simply saying we shouldn't spout off meaningless labels.

And what determines "meaningless labels"? France and Germany were involved in illegal deals with Saddam which by passed the food for oil program intended to take care of the Iraqi people. They are a primary reason for the failure of the sanctions and cease fire agreement. They have no credibility. You can be sure their motive is based on trying to survived because of their failed marxist policies.

I'm not saying that they have any credibility. In diplomacy, I say trust no one. However, I think it unwise to inflame negative sentiment when doing so provides no significant benefit.

Then no move would ever be made. Such aspirations would never come about. What you want is impossible with or without terms. Not very realistic.

We were the Big Satan and Israel the Little Satan in the islamic world long before GW Bush took office. It helps to know the facts before making statements out of ignorance.

If we can't trust God to protect us then what's the continuing big deal to keep "in God we trust" on the money? Does God take bribes?

    Yeah, You're Right On!

sure shut down the prisoner-of-war camp and put these guys in our local neighborhood prisons, than when their friends try to break them out, hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians will be in "harms" way!

Yeah, right, that is a fantastic idea?:BangHead:

And We'll Remain the BIG Satan with Obama

Nothing Obama does will change how the hate-mongers of this world see the USA. There has always been those individuals and countries that hate the USA. That is a fact. Clinton tried hard to appease the feelings of those hate-mongers, and people still hated us.

Getting rid of Gitmo. Making America more hospitable toward its enemies and captives, will change no hate. Being Politically correct and allowing our form of justice to protect the rights of these evil doers will not change their hate.

All this does is makes us weak, and more vulnerable for a major attack, with a huge loss of human life.

This is war, and it must be fought on the same grounds that the enemy uses against us. Anything less, makes us vulnerable and weak!

    WAKE UP AMERICA:wavey:

How will finally bringing these prisoners to justice weaken America?

Ok, so why don't we just summarily execute them?

The test of justice is not found in our treatment of the innocent but of the guilty.

If we are truly fighting a war on terror (note the New President has never acknowledged this), then we should just execute them and get it over with. I personally don't think we glean much intel from feeding, housing, and providing medical and dental care for terrorists. We never should have taken them alive from the battlefield, just mowed them down. No Gitmo, No Abu Garib, just dead terrorists.

No, give that one to Clinton. He had tons of intel, but he didn't do anything with it or about it....and he didn't pass on what he knew when Bush took office.

Yeah, that figures. Some right-wingers have a hard time admitting the truth about their heroes.

No, that is not right winger talk. That is fact....the record will show it.
Clinton minimized the threat - didn't think the U.S.S. Cole was any big deal.

Do you remember when we had strong allies, e.g. NATO. I would say we only had one during the last 5 years (the U.K.) and I'm not so sure about them after Tony Blair left office. I doubt we'll ever be that close to Iran, Iraq, N. Korea, Russia, etc. but gee can't we be friendly with the U.K., Canada, France, Germany, etc? I'm sick and tired of the Bush World Supremacy objective and the rest of the world is too.

Bush is responsible for what happened during his administration. If we had another major terrorist strike in the U.S. tomorrow wouldn't you blame it on Obama? Or would it be Bush's fault?
