Based on a comment by Madeleine Albright and picked up by Sarah Palin, will women who don't vote for a woman candidate go to Hell?

Palin says it's time to 'take off the gloves'

The GOP vice presidential candidate takes a few swings at Obama, but also quotes a Democratic line she recently read on a Starbucks cup.

    The Orange County Register

With a month to go until Election Day, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told an enthusiastic crowd Saturday afternoon that it was time to "put on the heels and take off the gloves."

And while she credited the line to a campaign worker, it and the rest of her 24-minute speech at the Home Depot Center rally was delivered with her trademark panache. The Republican hit the familiar topics of the economy, energy and defense, but offered a few surprises as well.

The first one came with the woman who introduced Palin, lifelong Democrat and president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization For Women, Shelly Mandell. While NOW has endorsed Democrat Barack Obama as best representing women's interests in the race, Mandell has taken a different view.

"This is what a feminist looks like," Mandell told the crowd. "Like Gov. Sarah Palin."

Palin picked up from there, saying, "We're going to shatter the highest glass ceiling in America."

Palin then turned the "quote of the day" printed on a recent cup of coffee she got from Starbucks. It came from another Democrat, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

"'There's a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women,'" Palin recited to the cheering crowd at the Home Depot Center's tennis stadium.

No, but any professing Christian who supports pro-choice and pro-gay rights candidates, will get 35 years in "Heck," (only Dilbert fans will understand), where they will abide in insufficient light.

Oh brother, I hate to say it, but that was a really stupid thing to say, and it just begs the question of support other women....in what? Everything? Abortions? I know that's extreme, but.... How idiotic! Some dems are going to get a lot of mileage out of this one!!

I'm voting for Sarah and I think she's a great gal, but she'd probably be shocked if she knew my general concensus on women in authority. Most of my friends are. Maybe I'll tell her if I ever have the pleasure of meeting her!

    This was too funny...

I can't see calling Palin a feminist when she did nothing for the women and children in the state with the highest per capita levels of rape and incest. It appears she is more concerned about the karibu and moose populations than Women's rights. She gladly pays $150 per paw to keep them alive.

When the commissioner of public safety tried to do something about the high levels of rape she not only vetoed his budget request for funding but many people add his attempts to go to DC and get funding to fight the problem as additional reason for his termination. I guess she considered his actions as being insubordinate.

This follows her firing of the Wasilla police chief who tried to get the city to pay for rape kits.

A feminist she is not but I guess in politics you can make anyone appear anyway you want... You can put lipstick on a pig, etc...

Palin made a stupid comment, no doubt.

But, the screams of an oft-abuse "same ol'" horse being beaten again make me detour my coumments for a second.

LeBuick, you have a right to your opinion, but for you to insinuate that Palin doesn't care if women and children get raped...come on, now. That's deceptive, at the least.

Why don't you just accuse Palin of rape and get it over with?

I've been uncomfortable with her lack of preparation, and it could very well be that "she ain't ready" for this office. There certainly is room for those conversations. But to go where you go with this...just wow.

But I have yet to figure this out with you....we don't always agree on matters political, but even if I disagree with you, I can at least understand your rationale.

But I've watched you take cheap shots against Palin that I've never seen you take against others. You really seem to have a personal issue with her...

    But what do I know...Obviously, she's pro-rape and child molestation ... :tear:

This is not a cheap shot, I was simply stating facts regarding her latest attempt to be a feminist. A hunter she may be. A NRA card carrier she may be. A feminist she is not.

I didn't say she is pro-rape or pro-child molestation and if I made that impression then I apologize. What I said was she did nothing to make Alaska safer for women and children when she had a chance. And to make women pay for their own rape kits I believe is an outrage but again, that is my view. I believe if you read this link I posted here and the previous article I posted on the subject you will clearly see where I get my view. It is a solid view that stand behind.

As for me taking shots how many times I have you seen me call for Obama to dump Biden and add Hillary to the ticket? I'm not saying that out of my love for Biden. I think he is a definite weak link on the Democratic ticket especially with his ties to the credit card industry. I am surprised the McCain camp hasn't made more attacks on this weakness except possibly if they know if they attack Biden then Palin is fair game.

Small town mayors, who can't print money like the feds do, are often faced with budgetary decisions that are heart rending, and personal. Do we buy these kits, or do we ask the hospital to perform the tests ad hoc, or do we lay off Joe the janitor's assistant at the courthouse, or do we lay off Susie the firefighter?

I can see how guys like O-BA-MA and Joebiden don't get it, because they have never had to make a budget or a payroll.
