Then Matt, all I can say is please forgive me of my mis-statement. As I've stated on here before, I'm not an Ernest Hemingway and often lose in my ability to adequately express my thoughts. But I'm not silly.

So what about those piano's in the Primitive Baptist Churches? Any comment?

But does the church not bear some responsibility for what they taught him as a young Christian?

No, because it was HIS interpretation of what he was taught that got him in trouble. Other people have been taught the same thing and don't do what he did.

I'm not Primitive Baptist but I can answer this question. I'll answer this over in the history forum in order not to derail this thread.

I have decided to not participate anymore in this thread.. I obviously disagree with some, but they are my brothers and sisters..

To answer the OP.. I still have friends that are still in the IFB.. our friendship transcends our doctrinal differences.. But some IFBs turned their back on me...

Thanks Tinytim for sharing your story and Also bringing this thread back around to the OP.

Please let's try to keep posts "relative to the topic of what you experienced in the process and the changing dynamics of relationships and how you have changed as a person. Basically, I'd like to understand how others have coped with having to change the fundamental dynamics of the relationships that we value (family, friends, fellow church members, etc) when they decided to change what they have been for so long."
