Now see, you'd have something to complain about if I'd said straight out, "JohnDeerFan is an idiot because he tossed out his tv set." But since I didn't even come close to saying anything of the nature, AND I've been online long enough to understand that misunderstandings can come from differing opinions when certain folk are looking for something to take offense at, I allowed only the truth: You could possibly have misunderstood my intent.

Really?? I don't remember anyone discussing my character. The fact my opinions differ from yours does NOT make me a hypocrite, sweetie. A hypocrite is one who claims to believe one thing and then turns around and does the opposite. Wanna show where I've done so?

Because I see no reason to discuss a show neither of us will be watching. I had the idea that this thread was about how families should handle such shows being shown at a time when our children were potentially awake. You handled it by tossing out your tv. If my children should come across such a show I'll handle by discussing what is worng with it and which of God's commands to us it violates. What more needs to be discussed?

:tongue3:  This only shows that you have read only the parts of my posts you wish to argue about. If you'll go back, you'll find I said my PARENTS had this rule, not me. Which only goes to show how I came by my ideas of how to handle tv and that what some Christians allow and what others don't is highly variable. It is not an insult to YOU that *I* choose a different path to teaching my children how to handle hollywood.

Hee Haw and occasionally Lawrence Welk were allowed in MY PARENTS home when I was a child, though they were careful to warn that we'd better not get any ideas about showing cleavage (well me, cause I was the only girl) or dancing (hmm, might have also been for me, cause I don't remember my brother ever expressing the idea that he wanted to dance. lol He did learn to play the banjo though!)

Like I said, isn't it interesting that when you accuse me, I must be guilty, but when I point out something you said, I must have just misunderstood you.

You're right. They don't. And that isn't what I pointed out that makes you a hypocrite.

Then why did you chime in, since you knew that's what the thread was about?

Like I said, if you're not going to discuss the OP, what purpose could you have had in coming here, other than to mock us and the decisions we've made for our home?

Oh, now you want to claim the OP was about stripper cartoons when your post title says soemthing completely different. Make up your mind already!

Oh and I have discussed BOTH. Now if you'd like to discuss the actual show, I might can access it tomorrow (I have on demand programming) and actually watch it to see if it is as bad as the article referenced in the OP seems to think and then I can give my opinion, but there won't be much to discuss if you also haven't actually seen the show.

Oh, no where in the article does it say that this show is a CARTOON. Nick also does live action programming.

You know, I can keep this bickering up as long as you can. Perhaps we should agree to cease and desist.

So, from looking through this thread, I think the conclusion is that having a TV in your home makes you kinder and less obnoxious.

I am closing this thread because this is a fellowship forum and not a debate forum. I do not see anything edifying to the Lord here...only personal attacks (which are in violation of BB rules).

If anyone wishes to start another thread on this subject, please do so in a debate forum.

    Thanks,
    Sue
