"Crafting a sustainable security strategy requires three fundamental steps. The first is to prioritize, integrate, and coordinate the global development policies and programs pursued by the United States. While our military power provides a critical and effective tool for managing our security, our support for the well-being of the world’s people will not only provide us with a moral foundation from which to lead but will also enhance our ability to manage effectively the range of threats and trends that shape the modern world.

Second, we must modernize our foreign aid system in order to allow the United States to make strategic investments in global economic development that can help us to build capable states, open societies, and a global economy that benefits the world’s majority. Third, we must re-enter the international arena, stepping up to the plate to lead the reform of international institutions that have not kept pace, and to create new institutions that are needed to manage our collective security."

Once a neocon government, always a neocon government.

And you dare criticize Bush ?

I mean, pulleeese! The US is leading the way in the international arena, i.e., dollars thrown at AIDs education and medicine in Africa, to name one. Oh, and what country is ALWAYS first on the scene to help with disaster relief, be it a tsunami or earthquake? You got it, the good ole US of A. Ken, the OP is absolutely laffable.

Wisdom would lead one away from american progress dot org. It is a partisan hack site.

I quoted the article, it looks like more of the same. Do it our way or we invade. Where did I go wrong ?

    1) I am a progressive(except for social issues) so www.americanprogress.com is one of my favorite "hack" sites. :)

    2) I don't think I have called anyone a name in this thread. Just in case, I have edited my previous post.

    3) I hereby apologize for doing so in threads on this board in the past.

You threw the wisdom word out, how am I to know who you mean ? (I edited out the name calling thing, in the name of continued friendship)

I'm kind of sick & tired of telling other countries how to do things.

I am trying very hard to reform and to not bicker any more on this board, so I am still learning how to stick to the issues. I am attempting to keep anything out of what I say in my posts that anyone would think is an attack.

Well, gotta get ready to take my wife to dinner and finish getting ready for my Saturday morning bluegrass DJ gig. Have a pleasant evening, Bro. Curtis, LadyEagle, and everyone. :)
