If you want to understand the U.S.-Iran controversy, know this: It is not about nuclear weapons.

You’re thinking: Of course it’s about nuclear weapons. Everyone says so.

    CONTINUE . . .

That is the same junk some folks were saying about N. Korea. We all know how that turned out.

Okay so just to be clear . . .

All the US intell agencies are wrong, the atomic energy folks that do the inspections on Iran's nuclear energy program are wrong and even the Israeli intell analysts are wrong because you say so.

    Okay.

Whoa I must have just had a touch of deja vu. It seems like this is a repeat of Iraq all over again. All the same claims were being made against Iraq, there was the same total lack of evidence, the same way of ignoring what the US intell agencies and the atomic watchdogs that were inspecting the non existent Iraqi nuclear program were saying . . .

Well anyways Rev you know how all that turned out.

We bombed, we invaded, we occupied, we searched, we searched, and we searched, then we learned the truth, and you denied it.

I really dislike deja vu it makes me dizzy.

Yes and we were relying upon the same reporting agencies that you have listed above. So we believed them on Iraq and you don't like how that turned out, now you want to believe them and let Iran prepare for the destruction of Israel.

No thanks, I'll take my advice from other resources than HuffPo.

    What? That makes no sense.

Iraq turned out just as I suspected there were no WMDs and no nuclear weapons program just like the intell agencies and international atomic agency were saying then.

If you are going to say Iran has an active nuclear weapons program in spite of what all the intell is showing then I'm going to issue you the same challenge that I issued the Rev and CMG "show me the proof".

Neither of them could do it but maybe you'll have better luck.

    Just show me the proof.

BTW calling me a liberal or conspiracy theorist un patriotic or a democrat is not providing "proof" that Iran has an active nuclear weapons program. That would be a dodge and fake that in a sane critical thinking world would put your credibility in question.

The truth is that all of Husseins weapons were sent to Syria in the weeks prior to going in and we then had to deal with that fiasco recently.

There are two proofs. First while they did not find any chemical weapons in Iraq they did find the large truck boxes that was used as mobile chemical plants to make them. In the two weeks leading up to going in we saw convoys of trucks going into Syria from Bagdad. Third the entire reason we stayed in a cease fire with Irag fro 12 years was because he kept either refusing to allow inspections or failed them.

That may be the mainstream consensus but it's still just speculation without proof.

    Show me the proof.

Those mobile bio-weapons labs Powel claimed as proof positive were never confirmed as being mobile bio-weapons labs. At least to my knowledge, if you've got a positive documented confirmation that they were indeed mobile bio-weapons labs let's see it.

We saw convoys of trucks going into Syria. What we didn't see was what was inside those trucks.

What was in them? I don't know one way or the other. Do you? Yes? Then show me the proof.

One more thing . . . Curveball lied.

Ok it really shouldn't be this difficult unless of course you just don't want to follow facts and logic.

1.It is a fact that Hussein had a chemical weapons program

    2. It is a fact that he used them on his own people

    3. It is a fact that we remained in a cease fire status for 12 years because of his refusal to work with UN inspectors and verify that his weapons program was completely dismantled.

    4. We gave Hussein two full weeks notice that we were coming back in and during that time trucks were convoying into Syria.

    5. After going into Iraq we did find mobile labs and there were some old weapons found buried in the desert

    6. Syria now has chemical weapons that have to be destroyed but no labs or programs to speak of to create them.

Those points are in fact enough to know what is going on. You can hide your head in the sand if you want. But the rest of us will use our heads to think this through.

A fact is something that has been proven to be true with actual evidence. So, where's your evidence?

Look it's really simple Rev I'm not asking you to keep backing up your own claims with more of your own claims. If that's how the rest of you use your heads to think things through it's no wonder this country is in the sorry shape it's in.

I'm asking you to show me the proof or at least some type of evidence that supports your claims.

Here's how you go about it. Choose one of your claims from the list above. Search for documented verified PROOF or evidence to back it up.

Then link to it and post it here so we all can see it for ourselves.

It's not that hard. I just showed you how it's done with "Curveball". I claimed he lied then I backed up that claim with evidence from ABC news I did not try to back up my claim by placing a number before the same claim and attaching a put down at the end.

    So show me some proof.

Yes that is true but there are also some I do believe are true.

That would explain why you keep repeating claims I've already shown to be false or based on dubious or inconclusive evidence. Such as Curveball's claims about Iraq's mobile bio-weapons labs. :)

Here's a hint from Poncho's basic PC tricks, hover your courser over the link without clicking on it and the address will appear in a little box on your PC screen as if by magic. That way you can see the address without clicking on the link.

    Uh here's what I said.

"That would explain why you keep repeating claims I've already shown to be false or based on dubious or inconclusive evidence. Such as Curveball's claims about Iraq's mobile bio-weapons labs."

Why would you only quote part of what I said? Are you trying to create the impression that the claims you keep repeating that are based on dubious or inconclusive evidence such as "Curveball's" admitted lies should be viewed as undisputed facts now because you say so?

Curveball lied. It's admitted. No amount of denying it will turn his lies into truth. It doesn't work that way in the real world.

That's funny Rev. I doubt anyone here would equate moving your mouse an inch or two to hover over a link for a micro second is "chasing down links."

It's easy hover read, hover read.

I don't think it's a matter of fear or lazyiness on your part Rev I think it's more of a convenient excuse to not become fully informed. You don't seem to have a problem clicking on hidden links when you're visiting prisonplanet.com or infowars.com to come up with the many news articles that you post here on a regular basis.

Yes I know your little secret.

The only difference between you and me in that respect is you are ashamed to let people know you are a regular visitor to these websites. Evidently you like having the opportunity to choose from the many mainstream news articles that are posted there everyday but you don't want people to know where you are finding them because it might damage your "credibility".

I'll look at all the links you posted and get back with you when I am done. I'm in the middle of moving right at the moment.

I figure that'll give you some more time to come up with the proof to back your claim that Iran has an active nuclear weapons program.
