Reading the replies in here I am seeing:

    1. attacks on the Bible "God's preachers preach from the Bible, not a comic book"

    2. attacks on preachers "My thoughts are that morons should be disqualified from preaching revivals" and since I am KJV this is also a personal attack on me.

    3. the typical unproven lie from the myth loving side "the man-made false KJVO myth"

    4. total silence from the moderators on the attacks due to who gave them.

Yet there is even a little bit of truth in the replies:

    1. "Too many preachers are falling into Satan's traps to preach anything else other than God's truths"

It's funny, you have a preacher who obviously preaches with conviction and preaches something that most preachers won't because most preachers in modern mainstream Christianity would rather preach something other then God's truth and would rather preach from something other then the Bible.

Correction, this isn't funny, it's downright sad.

BTW, I am still waiting for the verses that say to use any of the modern English versions and/or to use an Bible in a language other then those it was originally penned in. Something the mv camp shys away from offering. Still waiting also for the Scripture that supports having God's word in contradicting versions.

makes you wonder who the real "morons" are and who is reading the comic books and who is following a man made myth. The evidence for these rest squarely on the shoulders of the mv side.

In fact I am yet go ans compile the various questions they ask of Bible beleivers and post them to them and see if they will answer, or shy away yet again.

Ummm... you do know that the "language" that the Bible "was originally penned in" WASN'T English, don't you? Am I safe to assume your Bible is written in ancient Greek and Hebrew? I'm impressed and envious!

It is amazing that in my Fundy days in the 1980's that it was IFB writers like Dr. John R. Rice and Robert Sumner whose writings blasted the KJV Only movement. Something must have happened to the movement after Dr. Rice went to be with the Lord that has led so many IFB people into the Ruckman camp.

You mean where people with a certain color of skin live on one side of town and the other colors live on the other. And nobody does anything to solve the problem. That's truth? </font>[/QUOTE]This really isn't necessary. La. has its problems just like LA has its problems. Racism exists because people are in rebellion against God's command to love others... it is not linked to global grid coordinates.

I have lived in several different areas of the country and grew up in the south. The most segregated city I have ever seen of any size is Chicago... a city still run by the liberal Democratic machine. The worst race pandering I ever witnessed was in Seattle... where they sit back and judge the rest of the country while they are less than 5% black in the SeaTac region.

One very PC lady was brazen enough to pick my friend (the only black man in a room full of business people) out to wish him a "happy MLK day". Jim hadn't even thought about it being MLK Day. He didn't usually feel out of place no matter what the racial composition of a group was. He was a professional. That day, he felt different.

REAL PREACHING is about Christ and conviction by the Holy Spirit of sin. The devil loves to have His convicting work sidetracked by these side issues...

    Granny,

What verses exactly, from Genesis to Revelation, would those be that specify that the KJV ONLY is God's word for English-speaking people? Dodging the question doesn't prove your errant belief.

I'll take even one verse. If you can't provide even one verse, you're as much as admitting that KJV-Onlyism can't be found in God's Word, and is a man-made doctrine.

    (Patiently awaiting your response.)

First, why don't you go back to the thread you started, see the answers that were already given to questions you raised, and attempt to answer those left for you.

You seem to be evading and avoiding- partly by continually asking questions then ignoring the answers.

You provide evidence of your own guilt... there is really nothing to add. You have attacked preachers of God's Word and God's Word.

I have proofs for what I believe in the scripture and in the historical evidence. You have neither.

Yes. Within the last 6 months I have heard KJVOnlyism "preached"... without a single verse of scriptural proof. They are certainly preaching something other than "God's truths". On the other hand, each time I have heard the orthodox doctrine of the Bible preached there has been a full exposition of the relevant scriptures.

Its funny that you continue to indict yourself and those who preach KJVOnlyism. To preach KJVOnlyism, one must "preach from something other than the Bible." The Bible gives no hint of it.

Correction, this isn't funny, it's downright sad.

Acts 2. God gave the first translations... they heard in their own tongue wherein they were born... not a 400 year old dialect of their native language.
There are none that say "contradicting"... but then again you can't show that MV's contradict one another in their doctrines and teachings.

Here is the evidence in the KJV that differing versions are acceptable: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John... Samuel, Chronicles, Kings.

Along with the accounts of Paul's conversion in the KJV.

The original question was "Is the King James the only right version?". I think the better question should be "Is the King James an appropriate version"? The answer would be yes.

I enjoy your sense of humor. But doesn't it bother you when you see churches that don't mix colors? A friend of mine who was the youth minister at a church led a youth to Christ in 1995 and the deacons stood at the door and would not let the youth enter because of the color of his skin. This was an SBC church in NC. Can you imagine what that new believer thought of Christ in that picture! My friend resigned shortly after that incident.

God's time is better spent declaring the message of scripture rather than the opinions of a man.

My Bible declares in 1 Peter 4:11, "Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."

Let's examine the scripture to see the words Jesus spoke. Can anyone think of a time when He bashed a translation?

I know I am getting off topic and this would be a good discussion. It doesn't bother me if all parties involved choose to worship that way. African American worship is in many ways differant than that found in a predominate white congregation. That is just a fact. Most Churches that are intergrated are larger churches but usually blacks only make up a small part. Black churches have a unique worship and even preaching style and I think many of the reasons for segregation is over differant cultures.

Good for your friend. This is sadly a problem in most rural Baptist Churches in the south. Some even still use the "Curse of Ham or Canaan" nonsense heresy to justify it. There is deep racial division and not all one sided by the way as yankees like to potray it :( There are both White and Blacks who are racists and there are no easy solutions to problems that go back to Southern Reconstruction. It could be pointed out also that many white Churches in the north have the same segregation in their midsts.

While some of the things of MAN, such as the man-made KJVO myth, could well be foolish to GOD.

He's exactly right. If a preacher's preaching KJVO stuff, he's gotten it from a comic book and not any BIBLE.

    2. attacks on preachers "My thoughts are that morons should be disqualified from preaching revivals" and since I am KJV this is also a personal attack on me.

If an "evangelist" is preaching a man-made myth such as KJVO while supposedly conducting a worship service, he SHOULD be disqualified. However, there's no regulatory body on earth for such evangelists, but there IS the highest Authority of all who will hold them to account if their messages are false.

    3. the typical unproven lie from the myth loving side "the man-made false KJVO myth"

KJVO has been PROVEN to be a myth many times over, here on this board as well as hundreds of others. This is FACT, not opinion or guesswork.

    4. total silence from the moderators on the attacks due to who gave them.

Most of the mods are PASTORS. Unlike an evangelist, a pastor is the human head of a flock, under Christ. He is responsible to Christ for what he teaches that flock who looks up to him for religious guidance and edification. These pastors take their responsibility seriously, and are careful not to lead their flocks into man-made heresy. An evangelist, on the other hand, is responsible to proclaim the Gospel to the public, and steer the at-large lost toward Christ, encouraging them to become part of a local flock for Christ. The evangelist goes from place to place to proclaim Christ's message. He has a different calling from a pastor, but BOTH are important members of God's work force. The PASTOR is the man whom the individual flock members see all the time, and who is their main human Spiritual guide. Shame on the pastor who leads an entire flock down the road of man-made bunk.

Yet there is even a little bit of truth in the replies:

    1. "Too many preachers are falling into Satan's traps to preach anything else other than God's truths"

I agree, but not in the sense that you're getting at farther down your post.

It's funny, you have a preacher who obviously preaches with conviction and preaches something that most preachers won't because most preachers in modern mainstream Christianity would rather preach something other then God's truth and would rather preach from something other then the Bible.

That's exactly what's been said in the posts you've been reading in this thread. Preaching the assertions of Wilkinson, Ray, Fuller, Riplinger, Moorman, Watkins, Ruckman, Marrs, Reagan, etc. is NOT preaching from the BIBLE.

Jim, we've often referred you to the events at the "first Pentecost" in Acts 2, and to what the multilingual Paul, with the authority and knowledge given him by Christ, said in 1 Corinthians 14. In Acts, we see the HOLY SPIRIT enabled everyone present to hear the Apostles' preaching in his/her OWN TONGUE, while Paul reminds us that if we don't understand someone else's language nor him ours, we cannot communicate effectively. However, if you wish to disregard those Scriptures, you're free to toss all your English-language Bibles & use only those you believe are in their original languages.

makes you wonder who the real "morons" are and who is reading the comic books and who is following a man made myth. The evidence for these rest squarely on the shoulders of the mv side.

No. Actually, the KJVOs bear the burden of proof. Why? Because for hundreds of years, English-language Bible readers have had many versions available & hardly anyone seemed uncomfortable with it-till the 20th century, when a 7TH DAY ADVENTIST wrote a book, some other authors picked up on what he wrote,(errors & all), heavily hyped their books for more readership, causing some unwary Christians to actually BELIEVE their stuff, spawning a whole new cash cow of KJVO literature and a false doctrine which says, "The KJV is the ONLY valid English Bible translation".THEY originated a doctrine; THEY must prove it.
However, those who reject that doctrine because of its total lack of evidence have done the KJVOs' homework for them & have *PROVEN*-not GUESSED-that their doctrine is false. For the KJVOs' part, they haven't offered ONE SHRED of PROOF that their doctrine is right. And it's THEIR burden of proof!

In fact I am yet go ans compile the various questions they ask of Bible beleivers and post them to them and see if they will answer, or shy away yet again.

Fire away-and I, for one, will answer as I've always done, God Willing-but I expect YOU to answer some questions afterwards, with CONCRETE ANSWERS, not Clintonesque spin.

There is a lot of truth in this, roby. The little comic book by Jack Chick is the foundation and scholarly resource of many a sermon by the "onlies".

Add that to Gail's work and "comic book theology" seems fitting.
