The media is raking Palin over the proverbial coals for the $150,000.00 shopping spree. It is being referred to as wasteful, and it makes Palin look like a hypocrite.

If this was so bad, then why are there no complaints about the spending spree of Obama? After all, his campaign is proclaiming his "victory" and if they really believe that he has won, wouldn't it than be even more "wasteful" [on his behalf] to continue spending so much money on needless advertising??? Maybe Obama should consider giving some of his "windfall" donations to charity; the homeless street people from his home state of Illinois; or, give the money back to those who have generously opened their pocketbooks to his campaign???

This sure smells like media bias to me. But, because I'm a McCain backer, anything I say would be construed as biased too!!:BangHead:

You can't be serious. It is still too far from the election and too much can still happen to simply stop campaigning and sit back and wait.

The problem isn't that Palin has new clothes, but the image it gives using donated money. Remember how other politicians in the past have been made fun of for expensive haircuts, etc.

Sure it is fair. Much fairer than most of what Rush and other extreme right wing radio talk show hosts say on their programs.

Why they bought her clothes I don't know, I ahven't been keeping up with any of it. But I did see on tv this morning, her clothes were returned, most of the money refunded, and the rest gone to charity.
As for Obama's spending. I think RD2 is right, if they are claiming victory, anything else is now wasted money, if they actually beleive they have already obtained victory. If they continue to spend it means they don't really beleive it.

Well maybe Sarah should wear a man's shirt unbuttoned to mid chest then tied in a knot just above the navel with cut off jeans Hee Haw style. The RNC buys the wardrobe not Sarah, although she surely has a say what she will wear. I think that it is good for any candidate to be presented with a professional wardrobe. The RNC understands this and the wardrobe was never hers to keep. The wardrobe was to be given to charity even before this became a media slur.

Just another 'pot calls kettle black' issue to get folks' eyes off the real issues of socialism and abortion.

In my mind it was a dumb thing to do, they had to know there would be problems, but on the other hand Obomba spends on everything under the sun to make himself look good, how is this different. All the millions are to present the candidate in the best light, thus it is DUMB to say millions on ads are okay but thousands for clothes aren't.

And of course - just as his reports telling us where the money is coming from are incomplete...

...his reports telling us where the money is going are incomplete.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/18/us/politics/18obama.html?ref=todayspaper

"The report filed late Monday shows dozens of payments to credit card companies that were not accompanied by a specific explanation of what the money was spent on. As much as $1.2 million in credit card charges in July, August and September did not contain detailed information of hotels, airfare and campaign expenditures."

So again... this supposed different kind of politician is proving to be more like the old time fat cat self interested politicans... just on a grander scale than we have ever witnessed before.

And the Obamaites put their heads in the sand and pretend none of this is really happening. Won't they be suprised when Obama continues with politics as usual should he make it to the White House?

HOW CAN people who think that God is fair for putting people in hell who never heard of Jesus raise the question of fairness? If that is fair how can anything humans do not be fair?

You seem to be arguing that every candidate who has ever run for office and has spent money donated by their supporters is a Marxist. What kind of government do you want to replace our democracy (republic) with?

I am not sure where you got that screwy idea. The only office seeker I have identified as Marxist is Obama.
