A Paramus eighth-grader was sent home from school today and told to change out of his costume: They deemed Jesus Christ inappropriate.

    Another source: http://wcbstv.com/seenon/jesus.halloween.costume.2.853729.html

According to sources, the press wanted a quote from Jesus, but school officials have a policy against any communication with Him.

(I only wish I were joking)

Read the article above. The principle should be fired, tomorrow.

The scumbag will probably get promoted.

The superintendent claims the problem was not the religious nature of the costume but that it was too distracting during classes. Apparently other students with distracting costumes could remove them or turn their shirts inside out but apparently his required going home to shower, probably because of the blood from the crown of thorns in his costume. Unfortunately there was no quote from the principle of the school.

What's a Christian boy doing celebrating Halloween?

Celebrating Halloween is certainly not a problem for a Christian if they do it appropriately. However, dressing up like Jesus seems to cut into making idols or images of God and that is most certainly unbiblical. Where were the parents here?

I certainly agree with the idolatry issue.
But i don't think there's an appropriate way for Christians to celebrate pagan holidays.

Don't celebrate it as a pagan holiday. It is a funfest for kids. My son was a train, something that is hardly pagan, and got some candy, and we got a chance to be seen in the neighborhood. Nothing pagan about it.

I think the mistake you make is in thinking that if some people sin through Halloween, then everybody must sin through Halloween. I reject that.

I agree! I was thinking about saying this, but you said it much better than I would have. Thank you!

He could have dress like satan, and no one would have said anything. Well, again, they might consider that religion.

I don't think he is a Christian. In the above article, it states his mom is a Christian and his dad is Jewish. He recently had his bar mitzvah but I think he is also exploring Christianity. He did not dress up to mock Jesus but considered it more as a historical costume than a personal religious one.

A rather poorly written article. It makes no mention of just how the costume disrupted the school. And school officials made themselves scarce when the mother came to pick him up. Once again our ublic officials do not want to be accountable for their decisions to the ones who pay them.
