He has had a morning show in Branson for quite a while. Don't know anything about it. Never saw it.

Saw it a few times. He seems very humble compared to his old days.

To his credit, he's fervently repented from his old PTL days. Though I'm loathe to use a cliche phrase, it seems that in this case, he's truly a changed man. I think he'll build a small donor support base adequate to support his local ministry, but that's about it. And if that's how God chooses to bless him, then that's perfectly fine.

While we're on topic, his ex-wife Tammy Faye likewise has become a changed person for the better.

Regarding Tammy Faye..... I don't think she is a changed person at all in fact in my opinion she has become more like Jim Bakker used to be.

Tammy Faye was on TV, was it last season?, on a show called "The Surreal Life". The commercial/preview of that show that I saw was showing her with a male porn star standing there in his underwear. I thought it was disgusting and to think that Tammy Faye was a part of the interaction with that guy and seemed to be laughing about it...... well, I didn't see her as being all that reserved or conservative. She appeared to be quite liberal to me. And it in fact turned my stomach.

It was Tammy Faye who abandoned her husband when he was about to go to jail in order to marry the man she herself had had her eyes on as a married woman and had already developed a relationship with and that was Mr. Messner, who she later married. He was the wealthy businessman who helped develop Heritage Village. I thought she was wrong to divorce Jim when Jim needed her the most, even though she her divorce was a scriptural
    divorce (for cause - adultry).

Oh boy....... don't get me started.....

Tammy Faye, Jessica Hahn, Jim Bakker, ____ Messener..... they were all dysfunctional, but that's a whole nother topic all together.

Shows how gullible the public is. A pathetic man with a shameful life and nothing but wreckage, and out there milking money again.

    Heritage USA, Spokane style

I don't know if Jim Bakker has changed or not, but prison certainly changed Chuck Colson; so why not others!!!

Here is an article from Christianity Today.

Sounds like the apostle Paul. God does change lives, so I'm inclined to reserve judgement for now.

Hey Dr. Bob why are you picking on Spokane? I just made a statement of fact. I was surprized to see he is on tv again. I don't know anything about Jim Bakker right now.Is he still charismatic or whatever it is he was?Has he turned into an evangelical or fundy? What and who is he now?How did he build a following big enough to restart a TV ministry again? So I am surprized his "ministry" now reaches Spokane through tv.

Maybe the prison time paid off. I personally think it would humble someone.

    Hey I am Blessed,

I actually have Colson's book "the Body". He talks about his prison time and how it pointed him to where he is.

    In Christ,

    Brooks

    That's a good book Brooks.

There are several well-known people who have allowed God to turn their lives around in prison, but that's not what this thread is about - so I won't name them here.

I will withhold any opinion of Bakker till I hear him for myself. I believe God can turn anyone's life around. He did so with King Manasseh in 2 Chronicles, who was described as the most sinful king of Judah up to his time.

BTW, has anyone heard anything about Jim Swaggart lately?

He is back at it too. I saw him on one of the smaller stations here in the valley. He is located somewhere in the South. He seemed like the same guy to me, alot of asking for donations throughout his sermon. Alot of crying.

What about his theology? Does he still teach his humanistic, "make it up as you go along" theology of God wants you to be happy, wealthy and fulfilled.
