    I knew that when he was released from jail Jimmy Bakker wrote some books condemning the Prosperity Gospel, yet with all the rubbish that he has for sale and requests for gifts on his website, well I am not really convinced. Interestingly he also appears to have remarried?

    They have always said the bad penney always returns, or in this case the bad "PLEASE SEND US YOUR DOLLARS SO THAT WE CAN STAY ON THIS STATION!"

    :)

    His ex-wife has done a number of things as well - none that seem to come to mind, so the importance of them must have been limited :)

    Well I just spent a while reading the excerpts from his new wife's book and her heart sure seems right. Let's not judge them on their past but pray that the Lord use them and their ministry to win those that you and I could never reach. [IMG]

    I would say that Ken Copeland and Rex Humbard are a couple of poor chioces to have on the show if Jimbo really wanted to distance himself from his past. Looks like he is up to the same-ol, same-ol stuuf. Nearly a dozen links suggesting ways for supporting his ministry. And you have to be digging for it to find anything about the gospel.
    The more things change the more they stay the same. [IMG]
    I would like to believe Jimbo & Co. have changed, but fair words and great speeches do not make a changed life. His web-site is illustration enough for me.

    In HIS service;
    Jim

    Well, I knew he would be back at full gallop. I will withhold my opinion for a while, however. And I will pray for Jim and his new wife and the show, that God will receive glory from it.

    He had dinner in a local restaurant a few months ago as he was driving back to Branson. He bought dinner for everyone in the place.

    I pray he has his life and priorities are back in line.

    ROFLOL!

    Why does it not surprise me that his studio is in Branson, MO. It would be like going to another show. But I would rather see Shoji Tabuchi.

    Remember that God used angels, whales, talking donkeys, a fish with money in his mouth, burning bushes, a strong wind, raging fires, parting seas, locust, frogs and he can use Jim Bakker too.

    None of the things you listed are people preaching to send in money in or featuring false teacher Kenneth Copeland on their program. Having Copeland on says enough about Bakker to me.

    He also has no problem having Tommy Tenney, a Oneness believer, on his show.
    It's bad enough to have Copeland, but Tenney, a former UPC pastor (Oneness) who does not affirm the Trinity, too? That says a lot about either Bakker's lack of discernment or lack of doctrine.

    More on Tenney

    Tenney does not seem to have a high regard for the Bible. It's "moldy."

    Has anybody read the book "I Was Wrong" by Jim? It gives quite a picture of what federal prison is like. He alo admits a lot of wrongs, but the book written by the two journalists who lived in his town indicated a lot of wrongs that he would not admit to, such as homosexual activities going on with members of his staff. His book admits wrongs, but there is a thread of "It really wasn't my fault, I was listening to the wrong people and I was taken for a ride." running all the way through it. I hd trouble feeling very sorry for him.

    Posted by Pastorsbc1303: He had dinner in a local restaurant a few months ago as he was driving back to Branson. He bought dinner for everyone in the place.

    I pray he has his life and priorities are back in line.

    Doubtful! If I laid a $20.00 bill in his plate I sure wouldn't want him buying everyone in the restaurant dinner with it.

    Man , :( Some of you people make me wonder if you are baptists or charasmatics? I can't believe all the sympathy I am seeing for this charlaton! Not only did he fleece his flock of millions, but was clearly anything goes ecumenical. What if he repented? Good for him. Now he just needs to get his doctrines straight.

    Getting his doctrine straight would be the first step.

    The second and perhaps just as important would be to stay off the tv, get a real job, quit fleecing folks, attend a good Bible preaching church and be quiet!

    Jim

    People show their real doctrine by what they do and say.

    Don't you think he had a lot of supporters to help fleece people out of their money. How is what he did any different than what the Baptist Foundation did when it fleeced people of their money in Arizona. In Arizona its officers misreported to the people and went from church to church talking about the virtues of their way of doing things. They eventually blamed the problem on the officers and the auditing company. The SBC never took any responsibility for it. If that were a business, the business would ultimately be responsible for the actions of the employees. So how is what the BFA did any different than what Bakker did. None of the BFA officers spent any time in jail not was the SBC held responsible. Yet the BFA lost nearly 500 million for the people who put their money in the pot.

    I dont't see the connection at all.
    Are you saying Bakker is white as snow?
    I think I'll let the SBC'ers here defend it. I don't think it CAN be defended but there ya go.
    And why would you hijack the conversation from Bakker and his new show/business to what the SBC did anyway?

    In HIS service;
    Jim
