And also, to Crabtownboy, you said you haven't seen me criticize Bush. So you made an assumption about me out of ignorance. That is bigotry. When you refuse to change your mind after being presented with facts, that's out & out hatred.

You should change your signature, because your bigotry has not been cured.

It might interest you to know that the VA health care system is a system of prioritization. There are 8 categories.

Veterans wounded in action and/or disabled as a result of their service are at the top.

    I am categorized as a "4".

Even at that, I choose medicare-medigap (Mutual of Omaha) for myself at about $200/month. I can go anywhere, anytime without a referal and have never been refused treatment. I have never paid one cent out-of-pocket and have had extensive lab work, treatment and therapy for a heart condition.

It may be that Joe Wilson is opposed to the HR3200 but willing to support another bill or series of bills of clarity and fiscal sanity which does not appear to lend itself to being a social engineering device.

For one thing (among many) The present bill is peppered with the creation of new councils, task forces, committees and groups with outrageous projections of astronomical amounts of $$$$ (See “TITLE XXXI—PREVENTION AND WELLNESS, page 932,ff).

This is my own personal conclusion concerning this bill after I have studied the bill and gone through many of the convoluted internal references as well as external references and the writings of Ezekiel Emanuel.

My challenge to all American citizens is to start studying these documents yourself.

All this plus the administration's dream of a "Civil National Security Force" (Hello Police State!?) and the Cap and Trade "tax on thin air" and whatever other Brave New World pipe dreams will come down the pike.

Crank up the money supply printing presses!

Here is The New Obama New Federal Income Tax System in two sentences: What was your annual income? Send it in (Obviously tongue-in-cheek, but nonetheless close to the truth).

Or, President Obama, please put on the brakes!

What could he have said about President Bush worse than calling him a liberal?

Not really. If you were an offficer you'd know about "Falling on your sword" and "unlawful orders."

Even respect for rank has limits.

Now, you're playing the classic Lib game of equivocation. You state Rep Wilson has "government run healthcare" in order to eliminate any distinctions.

But as a retired Vet I can tell you -- I'll take private insurance and facilities over "government run" military hospitals any day of the week.

I understand your point and do not disagree with it. However it missed the point. Would it seem right if I took advantage of a loop hole in the law because of my particular situation, but campaigned against having that loop hole available for you? I am a retired vet also. I am in the VA system and probably will have to begin using totally as I fully expect the health care I now have through my wife's retirement to be done away with because of budget cuts in the coming year.

I would rather stay in a private insurance situation primarily because it does not use tax dollars. Also there is no VA clinic within 20 miles of my home. My doctor, who I will have to stop seeing, is much closer and traffic is really heavy and bad here.

But that is an aside. The point is he wants for himself what he does not want for your, me and others.

Hang on -- I'm sure Rep Wilson has been, is, and will remain in favor of health services for all those who serve our country in the armed forces.

That's a teeny bit different than, "Health insurance for everybody."

Well, we have evidence that CTB cares little for truth. If he'll lie about other Christians, then certainly noone is immune to his hatred.

What I have is the same as Mr. Wilson, which is Tricare. How I got it is by working for long hours, low wages, constant family separations, and in a dangerous work environment for 26 years. I was promised free medical for life if I stayed at least 20 years. That is not what I got though as there are yearly or quarterly premiums with co-pays for office visits and prescriptions. Not real expensive, but not free. Sort of feel cheated for having to pay anything because of the promise of free at the expense of the hours and pay etc......
The other problem is that having gone on permanent disability, I am about to go on Tricare for Life which will be paid for at a higher rate through withholdings from my disability.

I cannot begin to tell you how offended I am to hear this compared to a public option healthcare plan.

Wonder if the VA will start mentoring Rep. Wilson on how useless his life is now that he has "Called Obama out".

Leave it to a liberal to claim that military veterans don't deserve the benefits they were promised.

Ironically, I remember that back during President Bush's administration, 'boy was one of the loudest voices complaining about the shameful conditions of the VA system and the poor treatment of veterans by the Bush admin.

Crabby was one of the loudest voices complaining about the shameful conditions of the VA system...

Would that make Crabby a hypocrite?

Well then, at least when he started this thread he was following the old adage of "write about what you know".

Show me where I said that .... seeing as I have had limited use of the VA system and have found it excellent so far.

Now do not put words in my mouth.

Also, I do not know who you are referring to about vets not deserving health care. I specifically said in an early post in this thread that Wilson deserve them.

    From my earlier post:

My point which many seem to ignore or not understand is that it is hypocritical to take benefits from the government but not believe others should have them.

No, you are just wrong - that is all.

Those who served or work for the government are entitled to participate in their employer provided medical care system by virtue of there labors and employment agreement.

I work for my employer and the company provides my insurance. Am I too a hypocrite if I think that people who don't work for the company should not also be provided the same insurance by my employer?

BTW - if you want a real example of hypocrisy - how about Christians who say that they oppose abortion but voted for Obama anyway?

If you want a real example of a hyprocit how about a person who is against abortion but is for unjust wars that kill untold numbers of innocent people?

Well in that regard Obama is not a hypocrite.

He is for both the killing of unborn children and the killing of Afghanistan civilians. :tongue3:

And as a member of the Obama-collective I have no doubt that you are too.

When a man is beaten in an argument, he will often times change the subject to avoid the spotlight on his weak views.

Kind of like how Comrade Obama went from "How dare you slander a good man like Van Jones by calling him a Communist!" to "How dare you call Van Jones a czar!"
