Matt 15:8 - "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me". Now the Apostle Paul came up against true heretics, but did he devise ways to put them to death? Why would I even want to listen to Calvin's sermons knowing he did not practice what he preached. Did Calvin preach on Matt 5:44, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" ??? And what happens when one follows Jesus' command here? "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." So then was Calvin a child of the Father? What of his true heart towards those who he disagreed with? Did Calvin have an understanding of what it meant to be born of God? Did he not have the Holy Spirit in him saying "don't be consenting to the death of one of My children". Did he miss that passage in the Holy Script?
