Obama's wholesale Marxism has shocked the nation into action, hopefully not too late. But he would not have won if not for the latent Marxism in the average voter.

I thought I would highlight some longheld, now unchallenged thinking that has helped pave the way for a Marxist win in 2008.

Have you accepted the ideas of
    • Medicare and Medicaid?
    • Family Services?
    • W.I.C.
    • Social Security?
    • Unemployment insurance?
    • Disability?
    • Workman's Compensation?
    • Organized Labor?
    • Civil Rights Act of 1964?
    • The 19th Amendment?
    • Public Education?
It's one thing to cut the stalk of Marxism, but to root it out will require a rightist swing to the opposite and equal extreme.

The 19th Amendment? What's remotely "Marxist" about allowing women to vote?

Just for the record while it is clear Obama is Marxist I do not particularly support the list in the op.

Do unto others as you would have them do to you?

How do you want to be treated?

Was Christ a Marxist when he said to feed the poor, visit the sick, etc, etc.?

No. He was expressing humanitarianism. Marxism is a philosophical idea lending itself to human government. The basic tenant is the redistribution of wealth by the governing authority. Christ is asking us individually of our own volition to give to those in need rather than taking it and redistributing as he sees fit. Christ is engaging us to act independently in a humanitarian way.

Don't you understand that government is the hand of God to force us into obedience to his (not the Lord Jesus' but CTB's) wishes and commands. :BangHead:

I think the OP is full of beans. But the idea that women getting the right to vote or the guarantee of African American voting rights, among the others, are marxist ideas is as silly as ctb's response.

I agree. I responded as I did because the OP seems to put for the idea that anything done to help others is Marsiam ... which is not true at all.

If individuals and churches lived out Christ's teachings there would be no need for the government to be involved in social programs.

If you were to read the OP you would see a list of specific items - all government solutions.

How you managed to jump to your conclusion is beyond rational thought.

And yet you rarely - if ever - advocate for individuals and churches helping others and instead default to big government taking from one to give to another - after taking a little taste for themselves first.

There is nothing even remotely Christ-like in using other people's money to do your giving.

And Ann Coulter has articulated her opinion on the nosedive American culture & morality have taken since women gained the right to vote. I'm not saying I agree, or have an opinion on it at all, just sayin'.....

He also said not to judge other's giving. Do you remember the Pharisees looking down their noses ? Do you think that taking someone else's money and giving it to the poor is Christ-like ? Do you think he honors that gift ?

Why do you assume I don't give ? Do you have a special gift that tells you what other people give ? Or are you just a judgemental liberal snob ?

I was using the word yours in a plural sense. I should have written the sentence differently. using words that obviously meant all Christians. You, me, everyone, if we are to follow Christ's teachings we are to look out for others. I have no idea what you do with your money. I do hope you help others. I hope all Christians help others as Christ taught.

And I hope they follow God's word when it comes to feeding the lazy. And you never answered my question.

And did Jesus tell the rich young ruler to collect the money from all the people to use to help others - or did Jesus tell him to use his own money.

BTW - when tax money is used to help others as you advocate, some of the tax money is taken from the poor and then wasted and helps no one but instead hurts the poor even more.

And if all Christians followed Christ's teachings the government would not have to collect taxes for social programs.

Christ never advocated government programs. Not once but you see libbies who see the word of God as just another book like to create strawmen that says if you do not support government programs then you do not follow Christ's command to give.

By the way the church is doing what it is supposed to. Another liberal lie to create their strawman. The problem is there aren't enough churches or government programs to provide for everyone who is not being productive. Without productivity there is not provision. But libbies want to ignore that.

Using your logic you could justify the government taking every nickel that every person and company ever earns because there would still be poor that Chrisitans have not taken care of.

You are forgetting that Jesus told us that the poor would always be among us.

Marx wasn't all wrong. He was 100% correct about big business ripping off the working class. Why else do you think wage compensation in terms of buying power has decreased in the last 20 years? I'll tell you - because 80% of the value of increased productivity now goes to our owners.

Marx was wrong about using physical power to accomplish his goals.
