Incredible the man has no credibility or integrity because he does not hold to the calvinist theological view:tear: . I guess it would be alright if someone said that about you Joseph and called you a heretic because of your view right? Of course not--how about showing the same courtesy?

We're talking about politics here. The initial question was:

    Liberal Christians and Islam.

I'm saying that I don't know about any liberal politician who has expressed his position as clearly on this question as has GW Bush. If you know of one please share him with us.

    1. One does not get to believe whatever they want and not get the label of heretic. For example, Spong does not get to deny the accuracy of the Bible and diety of Jesus and not get the courtesy of not being called a heretic. Bush can't espouse universalism and not be called a heretic by me. Likewise, Caner does not get to espouse Arminianism and not get to keep from being called a heretic by me. There is right and wrong doctrine.

    2. If you read the link, his integrity was put into question because of the obvious and blatant misrepresentations, distortions of the truth, and his tendency to lie about others and disregard the facts. If he does this with Christians, then why should we believe what he says about Muslims?

Again I agree, I do not know any liberal politicians that have expressed a genuine faith in Jesus.

I know a bunch that want babies aborted . . . Too bad they cannot raise Jesus to as high of a standard as they raise up their "freedom of choice".

If you know of any liberal politicians that place their Jesus ahead of their political careers, please let me know.

    Thanks

    Wayne

I am glad that you have finally come to a conclusion.

What do you mean by this? If one is not worshiping the God of the Bible, he/she is not an authentic believer, according to God.

The god of Islam is not the God of the Bible. The Koran gives certain attributes to the god of Islam, which do not match and contradict the attributes of the God of the Bible.

I am not sure what is meant by the term "liberal Christians." Can whoever started the thread (I forgot now) define it?

That you equate those who deny the Scripture the deity of Jesus and universalism with Godly theologians who don't agree with your view of soteriology is ridiculous. Those who do not hold to your calvinist view of theology are not heretics. You don't get to make that call. Those who deny clear biblical doctrines show themselves to be heretics. Calvinism, Arminianism and all the view in between these two are all valid biblical interpretations and shame on you for calling good Christians heretics.

You speak of the integrity of this gentleman because of his misrepresentations,, distortions and disregard the facts and then do the same thing. The term hypocrite comes to mind.

Joseph, I have to agree with Bro Tony. I was kind of shocked that you would call Christians who are not Calvinists heretics. That means you are saying non-Calvinist Christians are not really believers and are not saved by their faith in Christ. I am pretty disturbed by that.

A heretic denies one or more of the essentials of the faith and are therefore not saved:
    1. The deity of Christ
    2. The Trinitarian God
    3. The personhood of the HS
    4. The bodily resurrection of Jesus
    5. The 2nd coming

Some include the virgin birth and salvation by faith alone.

Disagreeing with Calvinism is not heresy.

John Adams and John Quincy Adams were heretics then, as Unitarians belive in "one God at most".

Yes, that's correct. A Unitarian is not a Christian - they deny the Trinity. They also deny the deity of Christ (a natural consequence of their beleifs). The Unitarian Church started as a rejection of the Trinity.

Nor can they worship God if they do not worship the Trinity . . .

    ;)

:jesus: is the answer to all questions of eternal significance.

    Hey Daisy,

    Hope all is well.
Don't forget Thomas Jefferson - also a heretic.

God's Blessings to you and yours,

This sir is your bias and unsubstantiated opinion. It is a good thing you are not the final authority. You are wrong and if the mods and adminstrators won't tell you so, I will. You continually attacks fellow Bible believing Christians with the label heretic. Therefore you are a slanderer of the brethren. Shame on you.
