I am looking for a concise list of all the Christophonies in the OT. I have googled for it, but I can't find any concise list, does anyone have one they would like to share?

This is gonna be tough. I don't think there is full agreement on what are Christophanies, what are theophanies, and what are angelic visits.

I have a list I came up with someplace. I'll see if I can dig up what I came up with, but I doubt I would agree with it now :)

Thanks Roger.. that is one reason I would like to see someone's list... so I can use it to study the cases... I am sure I would not agree with all of them.. .for instance some list Melchizedek, and I don't... but I would like a list of all possibilities.. so I can study.

One thing is agreed upon though, if a person worships the angel and that person is not told to stop then it is at the very least a 'theophany'. No angel of God would permit themselves to be worshipped. An example of this is with Abraham (not being told to stop) and the other is John from Revelation (being told 'to' stop)

Remember that an angel is simply a word that means a messenger (one with a message) sent/from God. Thus we see the term even used for men at times and not only angelic beings, and it is still used today in much the same way.

Wouldn't all theophanies be Christophanies seeing Christ is the only member of the God-head that can be seen and touched?

I also don't believe Mel was a Christophany.

References to "the angel of the Lord" in the OT (not "an" angel but "the" angel) are supposed to be the pre-incarnate Christ.

What about when Jacob wrestled in Gen. 32 (referred to in Hosea 12:4)?
