Should Gone with the Wind be banned? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ing-original-book-line-line-gets-shunned.html I am just thinking about the books that have had an influence on my life, or have at least impacted me in some way (even if it was merely an appreciation for literature) but may fall victim to political correctness. I'm wondering how much of our history (not necessarily knowledge of historical events, but actual history in terms of cultures, advancements, and even mistakes) will be erased if some have their way. Gone with the Wind is one that I read in middle school. Here are a few more: Everything that Rises must Converge by Flannery O’Connor Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad Invisible Man by Ralph Ellision The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain I’m sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind (along with Pink Floyd’s The Wall….but that’s a different matter altogether ).
