    Hmmm....

Since it ain't all Jews, I can't give it too much merit.

And I seem to remember White "Chritians" who tried to silence them.....

Sorry, but I refuse to try to find an excuse for anyone trying to silence Biblical truth - be they Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or even some form of Christian, etc.

I've read the articles; didn't the Sanhedrain try to do the same thing back in The Day? And look at that result.

I write this as someone who you would put in the category you described above. However, these goniffs are without excuse.

The Jews rejected Christ from the beginning. They will continue to reject him. At least they aren't lynching, or beheading anyone.

But you and I know where each other sit on this. They are God's chosen people, I believe.

I am also see biblical prophecy coming to pass, in that everyone seems to be finding a reason to hate them. The entire world will rise up against them, that's what I believe. It's when thay are in the absolute most trouble, that they will turn to Christ.

Some call it dispy hogwash, and I can live with that. I don't expect to be around to see it.

The mistake of this chaplain seems to be counseling in public. Someone outside of these two overheard them and the chaplain is now accused of "turning this into some public pulpit".

As the chaplain for my local volunteer fire department, I am always careful who overhears any conversation, or who even knows about the conversation.

One more thing that will help is to answer with "The Bible says...". That way it is the Word of God, instead of my opinion.

It was the player's quote in the newspaper from a private conversation that the anti-Christian Jewish rabbi latched onto to raise a ruckus.

That's not the first time sinners had their feathers ruffled after learning they were hell bound.

    Carolina Baptist-

I agree. It's easier to point at an individual and say your offensive than it is to point at a Bible.

I think you are missing the true meaning of the article you posted. The SBC has several Messianic Congregations (mostly Jewish people) who are sharing Jesus with other Jewish people. We all know when the Gospel is shared it is offensive to some, but Glory Be to God for those who come to know Him. With this news it brings the topic out in the open even more. Modern day Christianity is a stumbling block for many Jewish people because of the anti-Semitism in some churches. I was so thrilled to find out about the Messianic Congregations of the SBC. I hope this encourages you to pray for those who are reaching out to the lost. [IMG]

And I also agree with Bro. Curtis.

There are lots of messianic Jews. Let's not forget that. See Jews for Jesus etc.

Nothing new here. The ADL has always raised a stink over this, unwarranted in my mind. IMO, there are times when they are right (Buchannan), and other times when they are absolutely nuts (Mel Gibson, Southern Baptist Witnessing strategies). This is one of those times.

Its just the Great Commission. That is all. But some day we will be dragged before hate speech commisions for doing it.

Doesn't sound like he is trying to silence anyone.

If the Nationals don't want to offend potential customers, they should take steps to be inclusive.

No such person as a "messianic Jew." They are Christians. Is a Jew who converts to Islam a "messianic Moslem?"

Maybe you didn't notice but that was a private conversation that the player mentioned to a reporter. Are private conversations now supposed to be under an edict of "inclusiveness" so that when one person is talking to another person we can no longer talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ for fear that someone will mention what we said to a reporter?

Apples and Oranges- Just as the NT is the fulfilment of the OT, Christianity is the fulfliment of Judism. A Jew can become a Christian and and fit like hand in glove. I Consider any Christian to be a fulfilled Jew, so to speak.

Amen!!!! M-poles, let's stop ceading ground to those who wish to silence us. Are we to appologise for private conversations now? Is Christ so offensive that one should cry offense if one simply hears his name carried on the wind?

Of course there is and there are many congregations in your area.

The word “Christian” has unfortunately been used in a negative light by many throughout history followed with anti-Semitism. Many Jewish families were required to deny their Jewish heritage in order to convert. This is contrary to the teachings of Jesus who Himself was a Jew and fulfilled the teachings of our Jewish scriptures. The unfortunate strife that is rooted in satan’s evil desire has caused many throughout history to use the term “Christian” as a negative/deadly weapon.

Back in the day if you will, the question was not whether it was Jewish to believe in Jesus but could Gentiles join the faith without becoming Jewish. For the most part you could say since then a de-Judaizing began to emerge in the early Church which opened the door for this division you see today and the removal of anything resembling Jewish heritage or Old Testament teachings for some Churches. And anti-Semitism arose to new levels and persecution began for those who were of Jewish blood.

Completed Jew/Messianic Jew – a Jew who believes that Jesus is the Messiah and remains Jewish in lifestyle and worship. Jewish people who have found the Jewish Messiah have not converted to another religion but are fulfilled in their Judaism and heritage in the Messiah Jesus.

This comment makes no sense. The word “messianic” in this context means belonging to and belief in the Messiah Jesus. Islam does not believe Jesus is their Messiah.
