Magnitude 7.4 earthquake hits off Japan coast

    Wow! Quite an "aftershock"! I had to look up what classifies as an aftershock. There are foreshocks, the mainshock and aftershocks; if an aftershock becomes bigger than the mainshock then it becomes the mainshock and any before that become foreshocks. It seems that most aftershocks happen within hours so this large of an aftershock this many days after the mainshock seems unusual. Hopefully the "mainshock" doesn't become a "foreshock" before this is finished.
