Can you show me where the saints have not died? Because I can show you where they did.

Can I ask you what sort of Baptist you are? Because you're showing a lot of support for the Catholic church - even acting as an apologist for them. I'd like to ask directly if you are truly Baptist, currently a member of a Baptist church in good standing and attending most every Sunday.

Amen and amen Jedi. I fully agree with you having been adopted into a Catholic family, attended Catholic school from 7th through 12th grades and having friends who are deacons and cantors in the Catholic church. I fully agree with you just based on my experiences and what I was taught.

Please go back and read what I wrote. I did not say that the saints have not died. Come on ... you know precisely what I'm talking about. Obviously their physical bodies are dead - they are, however, spiritually alive and with Christ in heaven. Do you disagree with this statement?

So you say. Sure, there are people who claim to be Catholic that probably do such things. However, to my understanding at least, this is NOT CHURCH DOCTRINE.

This is like saying that, because Westborough Baptists are hate mongers and protest the funerals of dead solders, that ALL Baptists should be branded thusly.

    Peace!

I was born and raised a Souther Baptist and I try to use my brain, rather than swallow what some preacher posits as the "gospel" when often times, its only his opinion. I defend them [Catholics] because I don't like to see anyone bullied - Catholic or not. I have many freinds who are Catholics - most of whom are more Chirst-like in their actions than many in this thread on BB.

I will direct you to my profile...

    Hmmm...

Angels are NOT to be prayed to and they do not hear our prayers.
    ...BUT...
If angles are present with us, then we CAN pray to them and they can hear our prayers because we pray out loud.

annsni, this is whacked logic!

lori4dogs answered that already. See post #77.

Are you still a Southern Baptist today?

We've seen in the past that a profile doesn't always tell the truth.

I'm also friend with Catholics but do not agree with their theology and I will not defend them. Bullied is not what is happening - truth is what's happening here. I do not bully Catholics but I also will not allow them to hide their true beliefs.

Please go back and look at the vitriol spewed by some in this thread. You have been very civil, while others have not. Do you defend those tactics?

I can't believe what I am hearing here. "I also will not allow them to hide their true beliefs." Are you God? How the heck do you know what's in a person's heart? Ironically, this proves my point.

    Peace!

Is your profile honest is what we're asking. There have been those who have posted that they were Baptist but it came out that they were currently attending a Catholic church and working to change their associations. So if I asked your pastor, he'd say that you are a member in good standing at your church and still attending?

God throughout history has shown us that He is the ultimate authority, however, we might differ over how he delegates His authority.

    Here is what I think..
Do I think that scripture is profitable for instruction and training? Yes!
Do I think scripture is insipired? Yes!
Do I think that scripture is authoritative? Yes!
Do I think that scripture is the SOLE authority regarding faith and morals for the Christian? No! And the reason is that SCRIPTURE DOES NOT SAY THAT ABOUT ITSELF.

    Peace!

    This is not my situation.

He would. Now, I've been through this with DHK in another thread and, to be honest, I grow tired of the constant haranguing.

    Peace!

I'm asking you a direct question. Are you still a Southern Baptist? Yes or no.

I am asking honest questions just because of the falsehoods some posted under. I wanted to be sure of where you stood. Thank you for your answers.

Well if it is not then really anyone can teach anything and claim that it is equal in authority with the Scriptures, correct?
