Has anyone heard or heard of Michael Savage?

He is very outspoken, and edifys himself quite a bit, but he does have some very interesting pov's. I especially get a kick out of him when a caller with an opposing view calls him to aggrivate him...or try to. I don't agree with everything he says, but lots of it makes at least some sense. I have his book the "Savage Nation" and it was pretty good.

For those of you who don't know him, he has a radio show that comes on the am talk channels. He is based in San Fransisco and calls himself a "comassionate conservative". He does not like liberals all that well and frequently speaks out against them and many of their beliefs. He also does not align himself with either party and will from time to time pick on both parties.

Pls moderator feel free to move this topic to a better suited place if this is not the place for it. Thanks a bunch,

Yeah, I have listened to him. I used to listen every night. He is on here from about 7PM to 10PM I think. First of all his last name is not Savage. He is of Russian Jewish descent. His basic POV is a good one but I don't like his delivery. He is too impatient with his callers and cuts them off for little or no reason mostly at his whims. I have taken some of his quotes and posted them on other forums for political discussions, but none of them really caught on that much. He's just too radical with his rants most of the time and I eventually got tired of listening to him and stopped.

Well try telling him that. I think possibly Savage might be a stage name, but he signed his book as Michael Savage. Well he usually cuts off the callers that don't make any sense or the ones that try to bait him. Yes they're the ones that usually don't like him. Oh well he is an interesting character to say the least.

I tried to listen to him a few times. Mostly what I heard was horrible rock music, and someone screaming MICHAEL SAVAGE!!! MICHAEL SAVGE!!!! MICHAEL SAVAGE!!! over and over. Not for me.

I listen once in a while, but I really don't like him. I feel he's a grumpy old man, doesn't like anyone but himself.

But he is very educated, and accomplished. Wrote a great book, the Enemy Within, but I just don't like his talk style.

    Lori,
I love Michael Savage!!! I try to listen at every opportunity I get. I think my favorite memories of the Savage Nation show is when he gets mad, tells a caller they are stupid, tells them to never listen to his show again and then hangs up on them.

I could do without the rock music that PA Jim mentioned...I usually hit play on a CD when it starts playing.

I guess the main reason I listen to him is because he has a very non-liberal stance and that is really hard to find on talk radio.

He is just like Rush Limbaugh who thinks he knows everything and anyone other than his ilk are wrong on everything and he is somehow superior, that is I why stopped listening to Limbaugh years ago. Another loudmouth out there is Hannity on Fox. He gets on my nerves with his loud rantings.

Well Savage is actually alot more outspoken than Limbaugh and I have noticed that Limbaugh doesn't really go after the repubs much when they're in need of it a Savage does.

Like I said before I don't really like his delivery style, but once in a while it is funny to listen to him rant. I think one of the reasons why I like him is that he really doesn't sugar coat stuff and just puts his pov's on stuff. He really doesn't beat around the bush. I just kinda tune him out or laugh when he starts edifying himself. You just kind of have to pick apart what he's saying and throw out the harsh stuff to see what he's realy saying.

As for the rock music he plays the instrumental only and I think the only rock words I've heard on his show have been "Now listen up!" and then he cuts it off...can't have the music stealing his thunder you know. lol =o)

Try telling him that??? No one and I mean NO ONE ever tells Michael Savage anything that Michael Savage doesn't approve of in advance. He is more arrogant ( with a capital A) than Limbaugh ever has been. One poster here called it right when they posted that he sounds like a grumpy old man.
He is indeed full of himself and only himself. People have called him to have a legitimate and calm conversation with him and he yells names at them and then cuts them off short. He is intolerable to my liking but then all of those types turn me against them by their delivery. (Another one is a very well known Baptist preacher from Texas who many here like, but when he calls people uncomplimentary names from the pulpit he gains my ire and change channels).

Forgot to add that Savages real name is Michael Weiner. If your name was (something) Weiner wouldn't you prefer to be called by another name. Being a weiner doesn't command respect like being a Savage does. Want to know more??? Go to Google and put in Michael Savage. One website places him as a NY Jew and another states that his parents emmigrated here from Russia in 1942.

Ole Bill: You take it wrong for I am very conservative but I do not buy everything that shoots by me from these talk show host, Pentacostals, Baptist or anyone else out there . I judge people and doctrine on individual basis and by the way Savage is not a Christian.
Of course Savage has some truths but like Limbaugh and some Baptist out there, they think they know it all and are perfect but I got news for them, there is only one that is Perfect and his name is Jesus.

I very much enjoy listening to Michael Savage when I have the opportunity. My current favorite is Tammy Bruce, but Michael is not far behind her. [IMG]

There you go. Very well stated. Some people buy everything that's presented to them, while others weigh its value before swallowing it hook line and sinker. Good for you. [IMG]

    Mickd7,
Out of the three you mentioned I only see Hannity on Hannity and Colmes.Don't see Rush or this other guy.But Rush and Hannity are known conservatives. Your statement led me to ask you the question so I would know from you where you are comming from.
We do have to remember these guys are in the entertainment business as well as being political.
