hmm bob, that section of verses where the blessing outwieghts the curses...it is reality if you let it be reality.

I'd DEFINITELY cross "Frosty the Snowman" off my list! Pure evil. Tsk tsk.

"Frosty the snowman was a happy jolly soul!"

Point one: WELL! We all know snowmen don't have souls! Only heathens attribute live attributes to inanimate objects.
Point two: Happy? Jolly? Sounds a LOT like Santa Clause, the anti-Christ! (See other thread dealing with this)

"With a corncob pipe and a button nose"

Great. Now on top of it all he smokes! No wonder his eyes look like they're made out of coal! Probably soot from the pipe!
I could go on, but it should be obvious to anyone who is "right" that this song is just as bad, if not WORSE, than "Joy to the world"!
Now go find me a REAL song! ;)

And just WHERE do we place "Deck the Halls" in our liturgy?

Just love the visual picture of the line "Don we now our gay apparel - Fa la la, fa la la . . . " :D

Hard to sing that puppy with a straight face!

You would have thought Deck the Halls even funnier if you could have heard our concert choir here at school sing it. It was awful :D We butchered it.

You're right. I shouldn't have been so flippant about the situation. Despite the so-called "conservative" resurgence in the SBC, the SBC still looks to worldly and sensual means to "get folks in." This is especially noticeable in their youth "ministry."

While channel surfing the other day I caught the president of the SBC on TBN!! He was praising their methods of evangelism and saying that it was time the SBC adopted them!
