Aloha to all. It is such a beautiful day here in Hawaii where temperatures are in the low 80s and the breeze is just right.

Anyway, our Sunday School class just finished our lesson on dressing modestly and I remember some goodlinks provided by some earlier on this topic. I can't seem to find them anywhere, but particularly remember a link to a site that sold modest clothes, especially in swimsuits. Anyone remember that link or any other link pertaining to this topic?

Can't recall where it is, brother.

But I do remember the story of the girl who got kicked out of Bob Jones University for an immodest swim suit.

Guess it had a hole in the knee. [IMG]

Don't know what link you are talking about.

But we haven't been to a place where there was public swimming for several years. When we go, the boys were shorts to their knees and t-shirts. The girls where play dresses with something on underneath. When we do swim it is usually in a creek or waterhole. They have a blast. Swinging from a rope, or building a dam to see if they can't get the creek deeper. The dogs normally are right there with them.

Glad to hear your sisters are studying this and looking for modest suits. I highly recommend the wholesomewear suits that Granny recommended. They are a bit pricey, but they look just like dresses and are set up so that one can swim in them without the weight of a dress. They are well made also.

Not to jump off topic Headcoveredlady but how do you get this at the bottom of your post?

"Repent! The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!"

Can I do something similar from the Profile Page?

    How?

    Many thanks!

Yes, I did that in profile. Where it asks for location I put the above quote in. Do you have something interesting to put there? I look forward to seeing yours.

Of course, if one thinks "modest swimwear" is an oxymoron, then here's an interesting read:

"Christian Modesty and the Public Undressing of America" by Jeff Pollard

It's a small booklet which is offered free from http://www.mountzion.org

Yes, this book is excellent. I never knew that the fashion industry wanted women to wear their underpants on the outside. They suceeded though.

That is the point Mike, we want to cover our bodies wherever we are.

I understand that and I think that if you have a conviction to "cover up", then you should do that.

But shouldn't your "covering up" be appropriate to the time and place?

When I go to the beach (or any one of the thousand or so women I see on the Bay daily), I see girls who wear skirt style wraps over their bathing suits that are both stylish and modest and don't look clownish like the above picture.

</font>[/QUOTE]Some ladies who may be rape or assault victims would prefer to look like a clown then instead of a harlot. :( Thanks for your stab at them. :(
Afguy asked for resources on how to find modest swimwear, not if you approved of it.

But why are those your only two choices?

Huh? What in the world are you talking about?

Just to clarify, I never said I disapporoved. In fact, had you read my posts without getting so hysterical about God knows what, you would have seen that I even said that if someone has the conviction to "cover up", then they should act on that.

Again, what are you talking about? When did I ever say anything about rape victims? I wasn't aware that rape victims had anything to do with this thread at all.

Back when women wore robes women were still raped. Hundreds of years ago when women wore dresses that drug the gound, many layers of clothing, and a bonnet, women were still raped. Did they look like harlots dressed with all that clothing, covered from head to toe?
Mike made no stab at any rape victims because they were never mentioned in this thread, by anyone. So where your getting this from I'm sure I don't know, not this thread thats for sure.

Why couldn't this thread be about helping afguy find modest swimsuits and not making fun of this woman?
