According to the Associated Press, in addition to the new fifth BCS game, the NCAA approved three more new bowl games - the International Bowl to be played in Toronto, the Birmingham Bowl, and the New Mexico Bowl.

The NCAA board of directors also approved a measure allowing .500 teams to qualify for bowl games if their conference has a contract with a bowl game. Also, teams with .500 records could earn bolw bids if all other D-IA schools with winning records have been taken and there are still bowl slots left to fill.

We could see 32 bowl games next season (assuming the Houston Bowl announces in June that it will be back in the bowl mix). What think ye all?

Too many. They should have cut a few, not added more.

Playing in a bowl means nothing anymore. They might as well let every team play in a bowl regardless of their record.

Well, it makes New Years day interesting. Nothing like watching college football all and eating all day.

Oh yeah, the New Years Day bowls are great, but the 99 that come before New Years is what is getting pretty bad.

    Need playoffs; not more bowls.

New Years Day isn't what it used to be though since the BCS.

I don't really mind all of the bowl games. I think it can help competition by rewarding up and coming teams with much needed tv exposure.

I'd just like to see a better National Championship structure. The BCS is generally an improvement but there still needs to be maybe two more rounds or something to decide a more legitimate champion. This year had two worthy teams playing each other. The previous two years didn't.
