Does anyone have any links to free / freeware MPEG to WMV converters? I have a digital camera that does movies in the 'mpg' format which, for some reason, my computer will no longer play back.

Looking for a free program that will... a) convert more than 60% of a file, or b) doesn't stick a "get rid of this nag for only $29.95" sign right smack dab in the middle of my video.

Any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated. And, of course, many thanks in advance.

    Adam

If it has to be converted to wmv could see if Microsoft Movie Maker will import the mpeg ok.

Or instead of converting the mpeg just grab VLC player, it will play just about everything thrown at it.

Yep, the price was right, but not quite what I was looking for. However, thanks for trying.

    Nope, it didn't work :(

Once I got to the site, I needed to click on a mirror site link. For some reason, none of the links would open. Just kept getting a time-out message after about 30 seconds or so.

But thanks for the suggestions anyway. They're appreciated.

    Adam :)

hmmmmm weird....just tested and it downloaded ok here.

Oh well, another angle is if you have Nero and have enough drive space and RAM (and I'm talking big numbers here) export the mpeg from Nero as AVI, then import into Movie Maker that way. I had to convert a movie file like that for a friend one night when nothing else opened it.

Or maybe the Cyberman could upgrade the file? ;) ;)
