Smart folk back in 1898.
Since we now have a record - looks like the average temperatures may be on a downswing.
Now I did find this link:
It states in part:
20th century surface temperatures were the warmest of any century in the past 1,000 years. How can scientist actually determine the temperatures for the past 1,000 years?
The rate and duration of warming in the 20th century is greater than in any of the previous nine centuries. see above
The 1990s were the warmest decade in the past 1,000 years. see above
1998 was the warmest year in the past 1,000 years. see above
The 11 warmest years of the past 140 have occurred since 1983, with the warmest years being 1998, 1997, and 1995. Okay - those years were the warmest - which means the temperature has an up and down cycle.
Average global surface temperatures have increased 0.4 to 0.8 degrees Celsius over the past 140 years. 0.4-.08 = about 1.25 F - divide by 140 years = 0.008 per year. Stop and think - is just one degree really a big deal?
Average temperatures for 1900 - 2010
Scientists balk at ‘hottest year’ claims: Ignores Satellites showing 18 Year ‘Pause’ – ‘We are arguing over the significance of hundredths of a degree’ – The ‘Pause’ continues
A "pregnant" pause ?
It was hot but wouldn't say the hottest ever on earth IMHO!
The global warming establishment and the media are crowing about 2014 being the hottest year on record. Marc Morano, founder of ClimateDepot.com, explains how bought-and-paid-for scientists are using skewed data to help further the UN agenda of one-world government.
The truth behind Global Warming:
Reckon it's time to post this again.
The Great Global Warming Swindle Full Movie
Man-made “climate change” is largely a myth promoted by politicians to scare the public into accepting a vast expansion of government to supposedly stop “global warming.”
Global warming is a manufactured problem played up by the government to instigate a public reaction – fear – the government then exploits to offer a predetermined solution: the expansion of government at the public’s expense.
This strategy, now known as the Hegelian Dialectic, has been used successfully by politicians for millennia to expand government, which can only grow at the expense of individual liberties.

NASA Confirms 2014 Officially the Hottest Year Ever for Earth on Record
I wonder how much of it is from all the hot air you release.
