Natalie Cole, Grammy Winning Singer, Has Died

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Singer Natalie Cole, the daughter of jazz legend Nat “King” Cole who carried on his musical legacy, has died.

Publicist Maureen O'Connor says Cole died Thursday night. She was 65. O'Connor had no details about how or where Cole died.

Cole had battled drug problems and hepatitis that forced her to undergo a kidney transplant in May 2009.

Cole’s 1991 album, “Unforgettable … With Love,” sold some 14 million copies and won six Grammys. It featured reworked versions of some of her father’s best-known songs.

On the title cut, “Unforgettable,” she sang along with her father’s taped version to create a memorable duet.

Nat “King” Cole died of lung cancer in 1965.

I just posted on Facebook that she and Wayne Roger (Trapper John) both died yesterday. I also posted the video of "Unforgettable" with with her father.

Are you serious about Wayne Roger??? He was my favorite on M.A.S.H. Cry I remember getting mad at Alan Alda when I found out he was a large part of the reason why Wayne left the show.

One of the reasons why I liked Trapper John, MD with Pernell something is because it was based on his character.

I loved MASH and was sad to hear about Wayne Rogers. I heard about Natalie Cole earlier today. So sad and I hope both of them heard the Gospel at some point and were saved. I don't know much about their private lives.

That's a surprise about Natalie. Several years ago in South Korea she had a concert close to where I was living. So close. I wanted to go but had to work.

She was a real singer without the fake flourishes that many put into their songs these days. She had a radiant smile. I will miss her like crazy.

Of course I really, really like her dad's voice. He was so distinctive. I read his bio --the good and the bad.
    They are both unforgettable.

Oh gosh. Let me address this poor boy who needs some of my attention. I wouldn't have any problem playing M.A.S.H in the church or at home. The statement in which you THINK you got me in a hypocritical "gotcha" moment was to folks who WOULD watch it at home but didn't think it should be shown at church.

So you and your little in agreement friend should get together and work on being clear on ya gotcha moments.[IMG]

Based on your comments in the other thread, and your comment here, we are led to believe that you think it is acceptable for M.A.S.H. to be used "in place of the preaching, teaching, singing, praising, or worshipping" at your church.

Based on my comments in the other thread and my comment here, you are as wrong with this comment as you were with the last. But that isn't a surprise.

Those toes are just still sore.Thumbsup

No sore toes here. I don't take things personally.

You are simply a hypocrite. On the other thread, you made it very plain that unless an activity was acceptable to do/listen to/etc at Church then you shouldn't do it at home. You made it very clear that if something was to be done at church it should be only for "preaching, teaching, singing, praising, or worshipping".

Now we see that listening to Natalie Cole and watching M.A.S.H. are things you do at home, so tell us how do those two activities help your Church in "preaching, teaching, singing, praising, or worshipping"?

For the record, I don't see a problem with either of those activities at home, but they aren't something I'd do at church. I understand that there are acceptable, and non-sinful, activities we do at home that aren't something we should do at church.

    You obviously do.

And you're just a got my toes stepped on now I'll show him type". BORING.

No need to try to explain your way out of it.
And just as wrong this time as you were with everything else you said. And FYI, I don't listen to Natalie Cole at home or anywhere else. Never really thought she was that great of a singer. And I also don't watch M.A.S.H. at home . Haven't watched a single episode of M.A.S.H. in 20 years.

So once again, you're as wrong as wrong can be.

Although I would not mind the church playing a clip from M.A.S.H. to illustrate the point in preaching, teaching, singing, praising or worshipping.

So you can go ahead and pull your head out of that pompous air you've been breathing because you're wrong AGAIN. Gosh how many times are you gonna try this whole "gotcha" routine where you end up looking like the sour, toes-stepped-on, shell that you apparently have become?

And I'll say it again, if you can't watch it or listen to it at church, then there's no reason for you to be doing so at home. And if you've got a problem with that, tough chickens.

So keep your stuck up, chip on your shoulder, nastiness to yourself...especially when you don't know what you're talking about which is more and more seeming to be the majority of the time.

No doubt your constant supercilious talk aggravates anyone listening to you. Put on an act of being one thing. But your poor toes get stepped on and the true, puffed up "I'll get you my pretty" you ,who just can't let go until you are avenged, comes out.

    Pull yourself together.
