although I am not accustomed to listening to news of any media, are there any pressing news events that happened and are still happening, but the media has turned away from them, but you still think they should be covered?

I think that border security and illegal immigration should be reported on daily until our Government gets off thier lazy backsides and does something about it.

Genocide in Darfur, Sudan is at the top of my list. The continuing abuses of Sudanese President Bashir and the government sanctioned Janjaweed militia are atrocious.

I think the idea of Israel taking out Iran's nuclear sites is very significant, not covered much.

    -----------------------------------------

They have already done enough damage between Canada and the USA. Cross-border shopping and visits are already at an all-time low.

    Cheers,

I disagree with ASLANSPAL on just about every political issue, but he is right on about what he calls the “wimped out” media. It seems to me like we have two kinds of news media in the world today.

The traditional media, the both broadcast and print are more interested in pushing their own political agenda of liberalism than reporting actual news. So stories are edited and promoted only if they serve to advance their agenda. That gives us reporters like Dan Rather who make up stories, over exposure of non issues like the Valerie Plame story, and silence on issues like Slavery in North Africa.

Then on the other side of the equation you have the “new media” who claim to give us the real news. They don’t have the liberal slant of the old traditional media but they are more concerned with making a profit then informing the people so we get a thousand hours of Michael Jackson and an exclusive exposé on porn stars and the dangers of plastic surgery.

Some news outlets have even managed to combine both of these problems.

Buried in your extensive list of false accusations was the above.

Please provide proof of your allegation of adultery by Vice President Cheney.

That's a very good observation and I have to agree to a large degreee if not completely.

That's another falsehood, ASLANSPAL, in a long list of them!

How much money have we - the taxpayers of the whole nation - paid so far for emergency response and recovery in New Orleans let alone the whole Gulf coast?

How exactly do you believe New Orleans is getting cheated by the President?

That's a strange comment! What does it mean? Has there been a significant down turn in the mortality rate of the "middle class" in recent years?

How about this one, ASLANSPAL? What does it mean? What's you recommended solution? Are you suggesting that people who don't buy home owner's insurance, automobile insurance, medical insurance, life insurance, etc. are unable to do because President Bush is in office? You did mean President Bush didn't you or did you mean a rose bush or some other kind of bush? Do you want the government to take care of all those insurance needs for the "uninsured" whomever they are and for whatever reason they are not insured? Is that your plan to save America?

More rose bush culture problems, ASLANSPAL? Are you actually implying that the elderly are truly "suffering" because of President Bush? Your solution is, of course, more government spending and control - it always comes with that - for some at the expense of many. The "some", of course, wouldn't include any of those evil "rich" elderly people would it?

Well, ASLANSPAL, I'm wondering if you're going to clarify any of the false accusations you've made in your long list of "neglected topics".

Perhaps you're not that interested in discussing them after all?

He seldom responds when confronted with facts, or demands for proof.
