And another cult leader. A Jim Jones type?
This guy is old news. And he is small potaotes in comparison to the REAL anti-christ who will arise out of Mohammadanism.
Respectfully, I agree that this guy is small. But, I think the big anti-Christ is bigger than mohamed . . .
Of course he is. Duh! He is Satan incarnate. But I am telling you he will be a Mohammadan/Islamist/Muslim (pick your PC term).
The Catholics are way past their sundown. Watch the Crescent rising.
You seem pretty confident about this. What's your Scripture?
And who will be the antichrist after the crescent moon wanes? The truth is we just don't know and will not know until it actually happens. This is true with many prophesies. The last antichrist might be something far beyond our imagination and will perhaps take everyone off their guard and
I am prepared to eat crow (without the feathers please! LOL) but I currently do not believe that anything but Islam fits all end times prophecies.
You should've said blackbird. At least its among the clean animals acording to the Law.
==Actually I think the Scriptures tell us the antichrist will rise out of Rome (Europe). He may very well be muslim, but that is not directly stated in Scripture.
thanks to people like Kipling, I don't think the AntiChrist will gain power from being born into a minority. Most likely I think he'll come from the Swiss country.
aren't they the Nation alleged most peaceful? Never to have had fought a war with anyone?
I don't think the Anti-Christ will be a Muslim.
25"So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
26"Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
27"And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."
Those people destroyed the Jewish temple in 70 AD and the coming prince is the Anti-Christ. He will be of Roman descent from the Revived Roman Empire--probably coming out of the EU ( keep you eye on who they elect as their leader ) and I would bet his religion will be secular humanism-the religion of liberalism-the worship of man with knowledge as a means of worshipping the mind of man and evolution as the foundation it stands upon. The Muslim religion is to obviously of Satan for one of them to become the world ruler and the False Prophet will be pushing a religion that elevates man to godhood. The first acted out sin in the universe was Satan trying to elevate himself to be worshipped as God. His desire is still to be worshipped as God and mans sin nature shares that desire. So Satan, self-elevated man, and the False Prophet will represent the 666--the unholy trio setting themselves up as God.
There is only one very miniscule chance he could be from Switzerland. The A/C conquers by peace. But I think that is a HUGE stretch.
ha ha ha
Yes. That is the COMMON misinterpretation of that passage. But unfortunately it is inaccurate. Secular humanism will not recognize any man calling himself 'god'. It is too involved with elevating the individual and will never allow just one guy to call himself god.
I used to worship in a Brethren chapel and the then EU (common market as it was known then) was thought to be the beast with seven heads and ten horns in Revelation. Because then there were 10 member states or kingdoms. There was actually a big thing made of this in the Brethren church. They really thought that the European Union was the antichrist and that they were all going to be united under the Pope.
Then that theory was scotched when ten states became 11 and then 12 and now I thing its is about 27 states. Then it all died down and no one talked about it again. This is what I mean about trying to fit our particular age into the last age and imagining the antichrist to be something that we are experiencing in our days. Look down history and you will see Christians doing making the same speculations. The reality of the situation is of course we just don't know. As I sad before, it may be something and someone that we have never imagined. The important thing is as our Lord said, "Watch".
I don't think the viewpoint you were taught by the Brethren has necessarily been scotched. With the growth of the EU there has been talk of coupling the territories together, UK & Ireland, Belgium & Holland etc. So it is quite possible there may still be ten "kingdoms". I am with JohnK48 on this one. I think the antichrist will arise from within Europe, and that he might possibly have some Jewish descent. There is no question that the world is awaiting the arrival of a great leader who will unite its warring factions and introduvce stability and peace upon the globe. I am not so sure he will be a secular humanist, but he will certainly be antiChristian.
Well I was with the Brethren for quite a few years and I can only tell you what happened. But my point was and still is, that we may all have our opinions about who the antichrist will be. But the very fact that you have folk here disagreeing about it demonstrates that it is not all that clear what or who he may be. So in the light of that, what I am saying is that it is not something that we can be that dogmmatic about, simply because of the fact that everyone seems to see the antichrist arising from within their generation and their point in time. When things may happen in a most surprising way which may take us all by surprise. We are all prisoners of our time and children of our own age.
Who says that the church in the generation in which the antichrist may appear will not be mistaken in the same way the Jewish church was with the prophesies of the coming Messiah? Who could have though that he was to come as Jesus the son of Mary in an insignificant small town called Bethlehem?Who actually believed that he was to be the only begotten Son of God? Where are the Rabinical writings of him dying on a cross and rising again the third day?
It was only after the event that all these things became apparent to God's people. Even the prophets themselves did not know the full impact that the coming Messiah would have and what would actually happen. Even when he was crucified all his disciples were initially scattered. They had no idea about what would happen. There were plenty of ideas among the Rabbinical writers about the coming of God's annointed one. But none of them actually hit on the exact truth. Can you see why I advice people to hang loose of who this antichrist will be? That the important thing is to watch as our Lord commanded his disciples to do?
I agree with that POV, but I will continue to think it is a Mohammadan who will rise to that position. Even if he is from Europe. After all, Europe is quickly becoming "Muslimized".
