The Devil Called Collect: The Exorcism of Jessica Leek, is a new book which has just been released. It is the true story of a young woman, deeply involved in Witchcraft and the occult, who is possessed by a legion of demons. She was completely delivered in a week-long exorcism, relying only on the name of Jesus Christ and the power of His blood. This well documented book, verified by credible witnesses, is said to be the most complete account of an exorcism ever given in a Protestant/Evangelical context.

The website for the book is: www.TheDevilCalledCollect.com

    The Amazon listing is: http://www.amazon.com/Devil-Called-...ks&qid=1200339697&sr=1-1

As the author, and a retired Southern Baptist pastor, I would sincerely appreciate any feedback from members of this forum.

Unfortunately the BB programs can't handle such
a long address as Amazon uses.

There is however, enough information in the
OP to figure out how to the right page.

Reminds me of the time when I was a church worker in a Philippine Baptist church and this dirty, raggedy, very disheveled and sunburnt man walks in right in the middle of the services and pointed his finger at the pastor and said, "I have come for you, Jorge, I am Satan and I have heard of you"...and words to that effect.

    Big fight after that.

Hours later, the man comes to his senses and says he's a construction worker from a construction job being done 12 miles away and has never heard of the church or of the pastor.

From the way he looked and the smell of sun on his skin we gather he walked those 12 miles.

Scary, but, yes, these things do happen.

I see a problem right off.
    a week long exorcisim
relying only on the name of Jesus and the power of His blood.
really, using the name of Jesus, would it take a week?

Donna, before I had this experience I would have asked the same question. The week included the time it took me to search for and find the demon possessed woman. During this time there were several telephone calls, prayers and attempts to cast the demons out over the telephone. After I found her the story became much more complicated than I would have ever imagined. There were literally scores of different demons which spoke through her, each with a very distinctive voice and personality. It was without question the most incredible experience I have had in a ministry that has spanned more than 47 years. It is the ONLY case of demonic possession I have ever encountered.

I explain in the Preface to The Devil Called Collect that the reason it took me 28 years get up the courage to publish the book is because there are still things about the experience I do not fully understand. Therefore, I state in the preface that I offer it as a testimony and not as a thesis. I'm sure that Jesus could have cast all the demons out of this woman in an instant. For me, it took about a week of intense prayer and spiritual warfare.

Please don't make premature judgements after reading two or three paragraphs. The parts of the book that are online - the Foreword, Preface and first chapter, linked in my first post and in my signature below, will give you a little better understanding of the situation.

Matthew 17:19-21 (Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition):

Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said,
Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Iesus said vnto them,
Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you,
if ye haue faith as much as is a graine
of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine,
    Remooue hence to yonder place,
and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.
21 Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.

    Edited to correct Bible Citation.

Although I have not been involved in an exorcism, my husband has within this last year been involved in one and it took many hours to work with a young girl. There were many things that happened and numerous demons that were involved - and the girl was just 12 years old. I can imagine that some people could be even more involved.

I obviously haven't read the book but I don't understand how you can do an exorcism over the phone. All of the ones that I've been privvy to have been in person - face to face with a number of people in the room (for witnesses, prayer warriors and family who might have authority over the person - as in the case of that young girl). Can you explain the thinking in doing that??

a week long exorcism that wasn't really a week long. part of the week was searching for her, part of it was phone calls, part of it was prayer, and finally the exorcism. all together a week, but the exorcism itself was not a week.
By the way, I didn't read any of it. Your statements make me suspect.

I read the first chapter and I think I understand. You tried to do the exorcism over the phone at the beginning because that was your only contact with her - makes sense. And from that first phone call to the final result, it was a week?

I'm so glad you were able to help her! I've seen firsthand the results of demons in someone's life - and what happens after an exorcism. It's just amazing that this happens but it's real.

There are some demons light who will leave if you
read scripture to them. Over the phone works.
Some heavyweight demons are like before - need
    prayer and fasting.

If you know Jesus, you know all you need beat
    all demons you encounter.

I posted that before I read the first chapter. I understand what you're saying but I was thinking that he was trying to do the whole exorcism over the phone and I wondered why. Now it makes sense after reading what happened. :)

I agree that some demons would flee even at the very name of Jesus over the phone - but I think that a full exorcism needs to be done in person.

You are exactly right. Thank you for at least reading the first chapter of the book before passing judgment on it.

    Jas 3:13-18 (KJV1611 Edition):

Who is a wise man and indued with knowledge amongst you? let him shew out of a good conuersation his workes with meekenes of wisedome.
14 But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts glory not, and lie not against the trueth.
15 This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, deuilish.
16 For where enuying and strife is, there is confusion, and euery euill worke.
17 But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easie to be intreated, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partialitie, and without hypocrisie.
18 And the fruit of righteousnesse is sowen in peace, of them that make peace.

I don't know what your point here is Ed, but this guy should buy an ad on the BB, not join for the purpose of pushing his "book".

Thank you for passing judgement on someone you don't know. The Devil Called Collect was self-published because a Christian publisher wanted to change some of the story to fit their particular theological viewpoint. I happen to have had three books published by traditional pulbishing houses and three others that have been self published. I have also written more than 400 magazine articles that have been published in more than 30 different periodicals, both secular and religious, including some of the largest in the country, such as Billy Graham's Decision Magazine. In addition, I was a syndicated newspaper columnist for more than 15 years. My columns on Religion and Politics appeared in more than 60 magazines throughout the United States. Yes, I am a wannabe author - and having fun doing it.

Also, I joined this board almost two years ago - not just to promote this book.

I forgive you for your judgemental attitude and pray for you to receive more of God's blessings and wisdom.

And you started this thread on post #3. Great 2 years of interaction, wasn't it?

I neither want, nor need, any forgiveness from the likes of you.

I'll admit that I haven't posted much, but somebody has to read all the stuff you write.

You've got my forgiveness whether or not you want it - and my LOVE and prayers too. Bless you, Brother!
