New President at Maranatha

    Maranatha Names Dr. David Anderson as President

    Dr. David Anderson ('86, '22) was named the sixth president of Maranatha Baptist University by the Board of Trustees on Thursday, May 11. Dr. Anderson will assume the presidency on August 1, 2023.

    His predecessor, Dr. S. Martin ("Marty") Marriott, resigned the presidency at the conclusion of the Commencement Exercises on May 5, 2023, and was appointed chancellor by the Board of Trustees.

    David Anderson becoming president was great news! Going to school him wasn't bad. He was a good student and very personable.

    I agree. He always seemed like a stable individual way back then....I believe he's a great choice to run the university!
