That is not a typo. The name of this version has "New New" (yes, twice); and it is not "The" it is intentionally "A". This version which first appeared in 2013 must rank as one of the all time worst Bible publications. First, it is backed by Hal Taussig (editor, and commentary) and his fellow Jesus Seminar liberal scholar John Dominic Crossan (Foreward). Second, it includes 10 additional ancient Greek texts mixed in with the 27 canonical books, such as for examples: The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Mary, The Letter from Peter to Philip, The Acts of Paul and Thecla. The translation of the traditional books is essential the text of the public-domain Open English Bible (OEB). They didn't really care about a new translation of Scripture; the project was really about polluting the New Testament and confusing an ignorant public with heretical writings. Thus the subtitle: "A Bible for the 21st Century Combining Traditional and Newly Discovered Texts".
