Featured New Years Resolutions?! What will you resolve to change for the better?

There is a pile of resolutions that I've made over the years and failed to keep, but there are two, both of which I committed to the Lord in prayer that He has enabled me to keep.
A few years after I was saved, I made a resolution to read the Bible through each year. I have kept that up now for around 25 years. It has made me much more familiar with the Bible than just reading favourite portions.
When I reached 50, I found I was putting on a lot of weight. I made a resolution to take more exercise. 15 years later, I am still hitting the gym twice a week and doing a lot of walking with my dog, and though I can't say I enjoy the gym very much I feel a lot better for it mentally as well as physically and I have avoided (so far!) the diabetes that is becoming endemic in Britain and afflicted my father. I am also able to eat what I jolly well like without putting on weight again.

 

I have a few Russian books that I have had for a while and need to read them. War and Peace is one. Ugh. That one will probably not happen.

 

Make sure to include a book on gremlins.

 

You need a book about wit.

 

Decided this would be the year I re-read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". Started it New Years Eve. I have it in e-book format. After reading the first couple of chapters the progress indicator says I only have 73 hours remaining.

I will start exercising again and I will get under 200 lbs. again.

That is an excellent piece. Very eye-opening. I think that it should be high school required reading. Especially now.

I've been convalescing from a crushed calcaneus and surgery since mid June 2016. I've resolved to lose the weight I've picked up from inactivity and eating comfort food and be in shape to hit the woods come morel season and to tend to the garden and resume my role as family gopher.

 

Nuthin.
