Lets just look at Mark 16:16

Mark 16:16 -- "Whoever believes and is Baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned."

    K.

Here we have the first part
"Whoever believes AND IS BAPTIZED will be saved."

Its a pretty easy, straightforward statement.

Then we have the second part

"whoever does not believe will be condemned."

Okay, so why isnt baptism mentioned in the second part?

This is the part where I tell you that I dont know. I cant answer that.

I can only tell you that that the first part is there. Im not going to cancel it out because of the second part. Baptism plays a role in our salvation.

In another part of the bible it outright says "this baptism saves you."

Amy-my favorite thing is context!! This is not out of context. I think these things only seem to contradict eachother to you. I have no problem accepting it the way it is. Baptism saves, but not being baptized doesnt condemn if the person has faith.

How does this work? No clue.

There's a lot we cannot answer.

    Don't call it heresy.
They don't have the support because everywhere they went preaching the gospel the Catholic Church was there with their crusades, Inquisitions, and general persecution wiping the evidence away.

Anyway this thread is now past 30 pages and needs to be closed.
If you so desire please open another.
