nowhere is it stated that Jesus will come to the earth again. Folks, we've bought a bill of goods. The throne of his glory is in heaven. It doesn't say anywhere that that throne will be broght down from heaven and plopped in a rebuilt stone ediface in Jerusalem, which is what Baptists teach. For some reason, many Baptists laud C.I. Scofield. Yet, his teachings are false. I've heard Independent Fundamental Baptists even say "Open your Scofield Bibles to page 902." Wow. How many of you on this forum have a Scofield Bible?

It's time for Baptists to have a major rethink of eschatology. Nothing they have ever taught has come true, and all the speculation has come and went.

The cat is out of the bag - the dispensationalism that BAptists embrace and teach is a FALSE DOCTRINE.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." - Revelation 21:1-2

    1 John 2:28
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Gerad - let the Word speak to you. Your problem is not with us...it seems to be with God's Word.

Jesus is coming. I don't know when, but He's coming.

As for dispensations, and all the theories of end times, I'll be weak and say that I'm not sure. But your assertion saying "nowhere does it say" is plainly wrong.

Whether you hold to Dispensationalism or Covenant Theology or whatever, the common, orthodox belief has always been in the Second Coming of Christ, because the Bible is so clear on the matter. To deny such is blatant heresy.

We can disagree on timing, pre-mill, post-mill, etc., but to deny the Second Coming outright is heresy.

Jesus Himslef tells us HE is coming again, to not believe it is to call Jesus a liar.

I do and have been reading it for 30 years, had it rebound 3 times and it needs it again.

Do I have a problem with it? Nope!

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

    Hello my dear friends:

We see in Acts 1 that the 2 men in white said that "this same Jesus will so come in like manner as you have seen Him go".

Think about where they were standing...the Mount of Olives.

Think about the visibility of this coming.

    Think about this passage:
    Zech 14:4
4 And HIS FEET SHALL STAND in that day upon THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
    KJV

    Consider this one too:
    Job 19:25

25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that HE SHALL STAND AT THE LATTER DAY UPON THE EARTH: KJV

Those wonderful Scriptures! By the way, not only does this prove the Jesus will return to earth, but it proves the very next time the church expects Jesus to come it will be to come ALL the WAY DOWN to set up His Kingdom!

    Thanks!

I am not "denying the Second Coming". Nor am I denying that the Bible points ahead to that time. But there has to be a time when we look back on the Second Coming. Does the Bible give us a clue! Yes, much chiefly, every which way! The desolation of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., i.e., the tribulation of those days, was the event that Jesus said he return "immediately after". The Olivet Discourse DEMANDS a preteristic understanding. All of it.
