According to the NY times, NY Yankees home attendance is down 6.1% from last year. In addition, the YES (Yankees) TV cable network ratings were down some 40 %.

Why do you suppose that is?

My dad's best friend's wife works for Met's management and is constantly offering us tickets - that we don't want. If it were Yankees tickets, we'd take them in a heartbeat!

Jets? LOL - Never, although I've met a number of them and they were great guys. But this house is a Yankees/Giants home, thank you very much!

Do not follow ice hockey at all - but I'd go with the Islanders. :)

The Yanks just aren't a good team and nobody but Cubs fans want to pay to watch a not good team. And even Cubs fans are tired with losing teams.

No Jeter makes a difference, but not having ARod probably makes Yankee fans like the team more and I get the feeling that they're sort of meh about Teixeira. Not having Granderson doesn't help the cause, either.

Losing team? They are 7 games above .500. If you look at the game-by-game attendance breakdown you will see that people are not coming out to watch the Yankees play teams like Houston, Arizona, Kansas City, Seattle.

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYY/2013-schedule-scores.shtml

Also, attendance at Yankee games is down 9.3%, not 6.1% from 2012. Still, they are #1 in the AL in overall attendance.
