Did everyone see Franklin Graham's comment on Obama's Christianity? He stated that Obama told him in 2008 during his campaign that he was a Christian and Graham asked him to share how he became a Christian and Obama replied that while a working in South Chicago the community asked him which church he attended and he replied that he didn't go to church. The community stated if he was going to work for them he must attend a church. So he did and that supossedly makes him a Christian.

Will this hurt Obama or help his re-election chances?

Google Franklin on Obama or the Morning Joe show

You're right the Obama voters will probably not care if he's a Christian or not. As a matter of fact, I believe many of the 85% of Americans that claim to be Christian are Christian in name only. Most of the people me and my wife have witnessed to claim to be a Christian but in name only.

You can view it here. Most of the good stuff occurs in the first 5 minutes or so.

    http://video.msnbc.msn.com/nightly-news/46472890/#46464672

It's funny to watch the commentators get all worked up because they can't pin down Graham. They are really frustrated.

Basically, according to Graham, Obama joined a church because it was an expedient career move for him to do so.

It won't hurt Obama's re-election chances because almost no one watches MSNBC, so hardly anyone saw it.

Only the Lord knows if he is saved or not...

Would say that the president, based upon his own words, looked to jesus as an example of someone who did good works, and that is what inspired him to followHim in social agenda, helping the poor....

He also has said need to realise that though America is mainly Christian, that other faith are 'valid" in expressing their devotion to wards God, and it is good for them, just as jesus good for him!

Sounds at very least postmodern, as ALL faiths lead to heaven!

Obama has not yet offered the FIRST example of a spiritual fruit in keeping with redemption. He has proven that he is expedient in everything he does, and I would suggest -- as multiple others have done -- that he has serious Muslim leanings, even if he is ultimately rather agnostic about the entire religious issue, save for that it is a nice manipulative tool for his grander design of Marxism.

It's none of our business if the man is or isn't because we can't know for sure about many people. Unless you're hanging out with him every day and around him in community there is no way you can say either way.

We have way too many politicians telling us they are and then acting like they aren't to begin to beleive we should ever use a religious test as a lithmus for higher office.

This is really a ridiculous and pointless issue for anyone to engage in and we should be better than this.

I don't think it's silly or pointless. If Obama is going to mandate that religious organizations supply the morning after pill to their employees it becomes an issue. He's invited the scrutiny onto himself. Furthermore, the coordinated attack by the left on Santorum and other conservatives regarding a truly non-issue, "the Republicans are going to outlaw contraceptives" plays into this discussion.

What God-fearing, born again Christian is going to support partial birth abortion? (Which Obama voted for as a U.S. senator.)

Think that IF the President wants ti use the "jesus card" to get the Christian vote, should at least give evidence actually is that which he proclaims to be!

What kind of evidence would he be able to provide to satisfy the claims of many? I mean he attends services from time to time (no more or less than some people in our church), he has talked about his faith and noted he is a private person, he says he believes in Jesus. What do you want him to provide?

Should he carry around Jack Chick tracts and hand them out to people? I mean what level of evidence must be provided? And is our measuring stick any different because he's a Democrat?

I love the argument that it is not our business...this is a President who has used "his Christianity" several times to say "hey I am one of you."

Like when we were told to dismiss his recitation of the Muslim call to prayer in perfect Arabic...because Obama has said he is a Christian.

I echo the points made previously....Where's the fruit?

All of which have nothing to do with one's salvation. The question of salvation isn't are my politics ____________ or did I vote ___________. The question of salvation lies with what you're doing with the person and work of Jesus Christ. Not politics. Not even morality.

According to Franklin Graham, Obama's conversion experience was when he was told he needed to join a church to continue to work with charities as a community organizer. What is he doing with the work of Jesus? Apparently he is identifying with Jesus because it was a politically expedient maneuver. When he does acquire political power he votes for expanding the legality of abortions. Deciding not to have an observance of the National Day of Prayer at the White House because he didn't want to offend anybody.

As far as I can tell, the President has only attended church services a couple of times in his 3 years in office. He mainly does so for show when the media needs to portray him as something other than what he is to the more ignorant masses out there. His claim is that attending church services disrupt the congregation and the service -- true that -- just like Allah walking in would disrupt them. In actuality, however, many American Presidents have attended church services and they got along fine with the service and with the congregation. In fact, most did...

Have to get the tele-prompter onto that... :wavey:

Of course, it will be someone else's testimony, but I'm sure he would read it well.

just saying that IF the President is courting the Christian vote, best show us reasons why we should support him , IF he has policies that are pretty much anti christian, why should we accept his christian creditials!

Is the President denying the resurrection? Is he advocating against the Trinity? Is he suggesting Jesus wasn't born of a virgin? Does he deny the miracles? Is he denying the inspiration of the Bible?

Historically, those are pretty much the only "Christian" policies I know of out there...with a few others. The rest are political positions that might have grounding in aspects of Christianity.
