To Counter Growing Criticism from Scientific and Medical Community

President Obama and his top health officials are engaging in a major public relations effort to divert attention away from whether its swine flu vaccine is effective and safe – to whether there is enough of it to go around. And the media, as always, is cooperating fully. This echoes the way media debate was manipulated during the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. Instead of debating whether we should even be fighting those wars, the media debated only whether we were using the correct military strategy.

Increasing numbers of scientists and doctors are issuing harsh criticisms of the Government’s plan to vaccinate (forcibly if necessary) virtually the entire U.S. population with what they claim is a poorly tested vaccine that is not only ineffective against swine flu, but could cripple and even kill many more people than it helps.

The CDC’s public relations campaign has been running “scare” ads that portray swine flu as a full-blown “pandemic” responsible for snuffing out countless lives, and which, unless stopped by universal vaccination, could kill millions of American citizens. But scientists and health officials throughout the world have called the governments claims unjustified and deliberately misleading.

For example, Dr. Anthony Morris, a distinguished virologist and former Chief Vaccine Office at the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA), states that “There is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far developed is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza” and that “The producers of these vaccines know they are worthless, but they go on selling them anyway.”

And in November 2007, the UK newspaper The Scotsman, made public warnings by the inventor of the “flu jab,” Dr. Graeme Laver. Dr. Laver was a major Australian scientist involved in the invention of a flu vaccine, in addition to playing a leading scientific role in the discovery of anti-flu drugs. He went on record as saying the vaccine he helped to create was ineffective and [that] natural infection with the flu was safer. “I have never been impressed with its efficacy,” said Dr. Laver.

We hear the assumption being made by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that the number of deaths from the H1N1 virus is at pandemic levels and now a “national emergency.” One would assume that with all of its resources, the New York Times’ October 26 front page story on the CDC’s statistics would be accurate: 20,000 hospitalizations and 1,000 deaths due to the swine flu. However, this is all fiction. And it is a fiction solely based upon the CDC’s own contradictory statements and actions.

Very amusing OP, given the fact that the person who posted the OP was one of the folks complaining about the shortage of the vaccine. Between that and the fact that the website in the OP link is one of the many conspiracy theory sites that claim some fort of government conspiracy to bring down the WTC towers, there's plenty of reason to dismiss the OP as quackery.

Ron Paul's website has the following posted commentary, and it's very true:

"It's time to start exposing the antivaccinationists for the crazies that they are. It's time to stop the fearmongering. It's time to get hold of ourselves and quit being silly.
It's time to quit reposting the anti-intellectual garbage of the antivaccinationists. It's time to quit forwarding the seeming endless digital diarrhea of emails warning of toxic flu vaccines and plans to annihiliate the planet with weaponized H1N1 viruses created in clandestine laboratories by evil Illuminati... And it's time to totally reject those who say that vaccines are always bad and never do any good... The people in the Freedom Movement want to convince the rest of the society that they are worthy of being trusted with the reins of the government. Well, we really make a lousy impression when we show just how gullible some of us are to be duped into accepting the lies of the antivaccinationists... I am pretty well convinced that Americans are numbskulls on the average. We in the freedom movement are supposed to be the ones who are "woke up" from the hypnotism of mediocrity and kitsch that enchants and enthralls the general populace. But if we are awakened to the false and crazy doctrines of the antivaccinationists, we are certainly pretty close to being the dingbats and moonbats that our opponents love to accuse us of being."

Thanks for bringing Ron Paul into the discussion. First of all he's a doctor who had been retired from active practice for some time. Second, his concerns and emphasis in office has been in reducing or controlling government growth and fiscal responsibility.
As one can see, his committe work has not submerged him into health care interest and concerns outside his specialty.

He was a flight surgeon in the military in the 60's, became interested in economics and politics in the 70's after studying our coming off the silver standard, and practiced medicine delivering babies in his county. While he is an MD, like many, he is part of and has accepted the politico-medical establishment as his speaches and legislation doesn't show any questioning or challenge in that area. This is not to negate the areas of his expertise in government, politics, and legislation...... it just shows that he, like many of us, has areas to which he hasn't questioned or hasn't revealed his questions, kind of a holy grail protected by a professional acceptance which he doesn't cross.

His children were baptized Episcopalian. Just what Ron Paul believes isn't quite certain, in my opinion, as a recent interview with Ron Paul reveals he doesn't believe sodomy is a sin and accepts it as genetic disposition. IOW, he accepts the medical establishment's general non-position better known as being 'non-judgemental' on [email protected] morality. In the interview which I heard, he was told that the Bible speaks specifically against this sin and was asked if he agreed..... and he would not agree that it was a sin nor that it was a choice. To him, this would make no difference for joining the military nor have any effect on the morality or the morale within the military.

While this may or may not be a breaking point for some who support Ron Paul, in my estimation...... we need leadership with a good moral compass and this shows at least one hole in the armor of Ron Paul.

In addition, many of Ron Paul supporters do have conspiracy questions..... some which already have documentation which goes to proof of misinformation being fed to the public by MSM, deliberately released as truth by the government or its representatives, to mislead the people. When questioned and presented with the evidence, Mr. Paul dodges the issues and refuses to get involved in these discussions. Perhaps he knows or suspects more but is calculating the area of his influence in hopes that more will join him in congress and the senate, through voter driven change, which would provide cover and safety for those activist in house and senate to bring these issues forward. But, for now, his strengths and weaknesses are what they seem to be....... and he doesn't present himself as either an expert in vaccinations nor a physician who has been involved in delivering vaccinations to a population for over a decade..... and that was a pregnan population for which vaccines were seldom given under the guidelines of that time.

That's the best you can do? Make disparaging comments about me, rather than note that the OP link is from a crackpot conspiracy website?

I don't have any doubt that the swine flu alarmists have blown this so called "pandemic" all out of proportion. The question is , why? The Obama Administration has already decided it's an emergency.. That rouses my suspicions immediately. What's the hurry?

Right now it seems that the statistical probability of contracting Swine flue doesn't appear to be much higher, if at all, than the possiblility of adverse vaccine reactions.

Question number 1: Is the vaccine effective and for how long? No one seems to be 100% sure.
Question #2: Are there potential side effects? Absolutely. As there are with just about any vaccine.
Question #3: Is there enough data available at the present time to definitively state it's worth the risk or not?

That's what it comes down to. Most of the medical community has decided it's worth the risk.

But they don't make our choices for us.

Personally, I won't take the vaccine, even if it's available. But I won't fault those that do.

Meanwhile, I'll keep a close eye on the hoodlums from Chicago residing in the White House to see if they try to use this fearmongering to advance their agenda.

They really aren't disparaging comments. In reading your posts concerning vaccinations, it seems to be the case that any vaccination the government says is beneficial is something you support. I believe the naive approach is both irresponsible and dangerous.

Then you seem to label any website that shows the dangers of vaccinations as being "crackpot." Again, naive and dangerous.

You must be confusing me with someone else. I've never made any blanket statements regarding the topic of vaccination in general in the manner you're claiming (aka, "never met a vaccine he didn't like").
Yet that's the comon approach anti-vaxers regularly take.
Nice try again, but the bottom line is that the website in the OP is most definitely a crackpot site, and that's obvious to anyone who visits it.

You would know, you're the master of it. But there's no ad hominem here. I said the OP website is a crackpot website. That's not an ad hominem, that's a direct accusation, and it's an accurate one at that.

Well, one thing for sure that site IS...... It is not for the faint of heart, nor for people who swallow everything that comes from MSM no matter how much they change the data or contradict themselves.

I love MSM. Gloria Estefan is fantastic.

That aside, whether it's for the "faint of heart" or not does not change the fact that the OP site is yet another in a line of many crackpot conspiratorial sites. They're a dime a dozen, that the OP site isn't worth two cents.

Swine Flu is a major scare---as if any diagnosis of it is a definite death sentence. At least that's the way it is over here. CNN International has done a stand-up job of making sure everyone is adequately scared.

But I'm just an anti-vax wacko, so what do I know?

You have to wonder why some folks are so filled with anger and hate over the flu shot and why they need to hang on to "flu shots are always ok" mentality.

Why don't you ask yourself? You're the one demonstrating anger and hate over the flu shot, and you're the one espousing a "flu shots are not ok" mentality, despite the lack of any evidence that they're not okay.
