Proposal: when referring to him by name, add <reported post word deletion - LE>.

I think he showed his true colors. Seems his only reason for taking the job was to control the census. Obama took the census from him and he quit.

    So much for bipartisanship.

Good! President Obama should not have chosen this or any other republican to serve in his Cabinet.

It's unfortunate, but I believe you are correct. I can't believe that Gregg came to the understanding that Obama and him were that different in one or two nights. One would think he would have known and seen this from the 2 years of compaigning that Obama did.

Your answer is one of the only ones that really makes any sense when you look at it from the higher ground and not from the Left or the Right.

I would think that at first, it would be extremely flattering to be invited to a post position by any president. And after a while, the gloss wears off.

I'm really glad he left, and will give him the benefit of the doubt. He cited the porkulus bill as a reason, not just the census.

Remember, like Hillary said, we have the right to debate & disagree with ANY administration.

The bill had passed the house and was in the Senate when he took the job and everyone knew where Obama stood regarding the plan. He proposed it.

We all need to remember... we can't talk about the best-known comic strip detective by name.

    no different

yep, obama is no different. Corrupt appointees. Census grab. Demonizing Republicans for actaully daring to oppose his stimulus plan. He's just like that whole Washington crowd. He's one of them.

What I don't understand is why would Greg accept the job after previously voting to abolish the department and previously voting to cut census funding. Sounds like the census wasn't that big of a deal back then, why is it an issue now?

Rationale, please? You feel that 40% of the country should not be represented?

How many Democrat cabinet members did Bush put in? Were the other percentage of the voters not represented then or did that just start with this election?

I think it's crazy that you feel that just because a cabinet member of your party isn't put through that the people won't be represented.

The people haven't been "represented" in many many years and it won't change until we take a stay. It really doesn't matter which letter comes after the name.

Anyone who thinks the Obama seizure of the census is wonderful/great/fine by your standards is not dealing with a full deck or is pushing for Obama to change America to meet their radical agenda. We must do whatever we can to stop this power hungry madman. Put your politics aside and look at the real danger in such a move.

    Good move for Gregg!

Too late for this type of fear mongering, we've already given him the keys to the nation and 60%+ think he's doing great.

Oh, and PS... Obama will have no more control over this census then any president in the past. Good or bad, he has the power of the president and to start limiting power because you don't like THIS president will impact all future leaders.

Actually, Ted Kennedy wrote his education reform. There were others, but to say Bush ruled from a strict conservative platform is way off.
