You know what, there is nothing godly about leaving God out of the constitution. In fact there is nothing godly about leaving God out of any aspect of our lives. "Lord" means God and there is no other way to spin that try as liberals might.

That is a nice thought, but it will not hold under investigation. If the founding fathers had been really interested in justice slavery would have been ended, everyone, not just landholders, would have been given the vote.

God told the children of Israel not to have a king, that only a thearchy was to the government. So that would leave democracy outside God's will also.

Not really: Article 6, 1st Amendment. That is assuming religion implies God. It may not to some folks!

Religion is not God. Pretty simple.

Stretch it, spin it, twist it anyway you want. God is not in the US Constitution. And that is right and proper.

Show me the passage of scripture that suggests any such thing.

Why people want to live part of their lives in which they ignore God is beyond me.

I could ask just as easily for a passage that shows that God should be in a government document even if the people don't believe.

    Is is abiblical.

A relationship with God is personal and, outside of Biblical Israel, not national. Nations don't have gods, people do.

All the Bible says about government is that it is established by God, Christians must obey the law and pay their taxes, and that we are to pray for our leaders.

The Irish Constitution above has plenty of references to God, does that make it a Christian nation? Hardly.

I don't need my government to acknowledge my God. In fact, I would rather any corrupt system not try to tie God to a system. Do we really think it honours God to say 'In God We Trust' then permit the killing of 50,000,000 children?

I am glad the Democrats aren't trying to tie my God to a corrupt governmental system. I wish the GOP would stop using Him for a political football as well.

    So you have nothing?

OK then show me a passage that supports Christians living a part of their lives where they leave God completely out of the picture.

C4K did not imply, infer, or suggest that the Lord is not included in any part of his life. This op has nothing to do with that statement. Why don't you ride on and take that silly horse with you?

I was going to leave the post, as it was, but I will simply cut to the chase. C4K is compelled by reason to concede that no mention of God in the Constitution is right and proper according to his reading of the Scriptures and the statements made therein concerning the state of man and the nature of God and His government.

In other words, C4K's religion should be the religion of the Constitution.

That is really what the argument is about. It isn't about religion per se, but which religion and which world view receives legal sanction.
