Obama EPA kills power plant, 3,900 jobs in Texas

Chase Power, the parent company behind the $3 billion Las Brisas coal power plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, announced yesterday that it was cancelling the project.

    SNIP

Freysinger made it very clear who was responsible for the projects death. “The (Las Brisas Energy Center) is a victim of EPA’s concerted effort to stifle solid-fuel energy facilities in the U.S., including EPA’s carbon-permitting requirements and EPA’s New Source Performance Standards for new power plants,” he said.

The numbers will continue to mount. It's no wonder Obama didn't hardly mention jobs in his inaugural address. It doesn't fit in with his green agenda.

Report: Up to 17,000 jobs lost from coal plant shutdowns

With 205 coal-fired generators shutting down in the coming years due to increased competition from cheap Natural Gas and stricter environmental regulations, costing the U.S. between 13,000 and 17,000 jobs, according to the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity.

My FIL is a millwright at Alabama Power's Fossil Fuel Generating plant in Wilsonville, AL-----they are currently pumping in millions of $$$$$'s converting their furnaces from coal fired to natural gas----there are 5 furnace units----each will be converted one at the time-----not to mention that they have already spent millions of $$$$$$'s to comply with the EPA emission standards for burning coal----with the conversion to natural gas-that money to comply filtering the emissions from coal like the EPA nazi's wanted was practically down the commode!!!

I remember way back----it was President Reagon who pushed hard for the coal industry---I believe saying that there was enough coal in the US to supply ourselves for the next 200 years

    "O" is an idiot!!!
