Did anyone else notice that after Rush Limbaugh accused Obama and his administration of talking down the economy and causing things to get worse, that Obama took his advice and is now talking up the "fundamentals" of the economy, and claiming we're seeing economic improvement already from the stimulus package, even though the money hasn't even gone out yet?

    peace to you:praying:

The influence of Rush on Obama is obvious.

I thought the change in tone had to do with getting the stimulus to pass. You can't expect the stimulus to work if you keep saying the sky is falling. AND, he would have never gotten it to pass if he'd said everything was ok.

I think you're giving Limbaugh too much credit.

Didn't McCain take a beating for saying the fundamentals of the economy were strong ? Didn't that beating include jabs from the lefties on this very board ?

Perhaps, but it does seem rather coincidental.

McCain only specified he was referring to the workers etc... later on. The statement in and of itself without qualifying what he meant did cripple his chances at the oval office. Obama seems to have learned from his misgivings and added the justifier to his statement.

Only if you want it to... I can assure you, no one with future political hopes is listening to Rush... Notice he never puts his name on the ballot?

After he got hammered by the press, he folded, in other words. And since most of the press licks the zero's boots, his statement is A-OKAY.

He took a severe beating...from Obama ...as well as the far left here.

    Obama wants it both ways.

He has no core beliefs except socialism and any lie will do as long as it advances that goal.

Kinda like muslims believing it's OK to lie to "infidels", capitalist America being Obama's "infidel".

Purely a coincidence I can assure you. Was Rush a consultant for Bush? If so, you can see what happens when anyone follows his advice.

Perhaps it got better since the stimulus plan was passed... Did you think of that?

I agree with your explanation. It is obvious it is all politics and political maneuvering. Additionally a lot of people were saying that not just Rush, even if he would have been swayed, I don't think it was rush doing the swaying.

If Bush had followed Rush's advice, he wouldn't have expanded the size of the federal government. He wouldn't have passed the first "bailout". He wouldn't have compromised with the democrats on the domestic agenda.

If Bush would have followed Rush's advice, Bush would have been a conservative, not a moderate, conservative republicans would be in control of congress and federal spending wouldn't be spiraling out of control.

    peace to you:praying:

That's why Rush isn't president and has a 20% popularity rating. The guy is a nut!

What Republican hasn't in recent history? Reagan made a big deal out of decreasing the size of government and the national debt and then increased both.
