Obama used Bin laden to Criticize Romney

George Bush did lots more than he is given credit for. He was not a man to seek credit and being the center of attention. Yes, he set up the very intelligence that was used to eventually kill Bin Laden. The date he was killed has nothng to do with who gets credit. That is a throw of the dice. I do not think there is any logic in saying that if Bin Laden had been killed the first day of the Obama administration, he should get the credit.

The men and women who are carrying out the tasks to rid us of people like Bin Laden, and Carpro knows this as well as anyone, have no idea when one President leaves and the next takes over. They just go about their job day after day. Military people are not political people for the most part.

I did go back and reread the threads, and for all the criticism of yours against Obama, you never said he was not a citizen, You made a reference to someone else saying it. My apologies, and hope to continue posting with you.

There are many people who have made many accusations against the President over four years, some justified, some not. My error was relying on my memory to sort out who. Back to the original thread, yes Obama has more character than Bin Laden. The comparison was not fair. There is really no reason to comment about Romney anymore. There is only one person left in the Republican race besides Paul, so the matter is decided. That is what the people wanted, and that is how our system works.

Can we please get back on topic? Notice the situation room. Notice who is sitting in the head chair. Notice where Obama is, fresh off the golf course. He takes too much credit for himself. He was playing golf when it was about to come down and there he sits in his golf clothes in the corner, while the real power is sitting in the power chair while the mission is taking place. Contrast Obama and his taking personal credit for Bin Laden with Bush's giving of full credit to the military and intelligence personnel, taking none for himself, for the capture of Saddam.

The class of President Bush continues to overshadow the shallow bravado of Obama.

Back on topic though in compliance with the moderator's request. It was foolish of President Obama to say that Governor Romney would not have ordered the execution. he doesn't know what Romney would have done.

I misunderstood the topic of the thread I guess. I thought it was about the President's foolish charge against Gov Romney, not what he wore or where he sat as the operation was carried out. I would love to discuss this more - is that part of the topic?

 

Bush would have done the same bragging if Osama had been killed on his watch . . . but couldn't pull it off.

Seems like a pretty wise choice to call the shots to me. Good leaders know how to delegate authority to those who can do a better job than they can.

On the topic of the thread the president was wrong to attack Gov Romney, on the actual operation it is very hard to be critical. He followed the lead of years of intellegence, he got advise, ordered the hit, and praised the heroes who accomplished the mission.

 

You must admit though that playing golf at that critical time does make Obama appear to be just a bit detached and disinterested in the whole thing though.

 

Disagree - it contributed to the element of surprise. Whoever came up with the strategy it was brilliant that he went on like nothing was happening. This was a well executed operation from top to bottom. Everyone involved, including the previous two administrations, deserves praise. This was a great moment in US history. Whether it is President Obama or his detractors playing political games with it it is wrong.

 

Give credit where credit is due.
