What exactly is a "civilian national security force"? These terms combined seem like some kind of para-military organization not within the Dept. of Defense!

How can it be "just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as our military? That seems like a rather potent force to me!

It wasn't included in the just signed Oink Oink Oink Law so it must be coming to a neighborhood near you later on.

Reminds me of George Orwell's 1984. Everyone can be eyes and ears of Big Brother and turn their parents in.

WELL! Some have referred to O'bama as messiah.

    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=77539

Who knows but I am sure O'bama has thought this through just like he has everything else he has encountered.

He is not interested in whether or not he is telling the truth. All he cares about is bad-mouthing Obama. And, just like those who bring up Hitler or the Nazis, they only make themselves look more foolish.

Does everyone who heard Obama's words quoted herein blindly accept them as totally harmless or even good for America?

Does anyone have any details on exactly what the "civilian national security force" is planned to be?

Does anyone have an explanation of how this entity would be "just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as our military?

Let's assume the most benign intent when interpreting these words.

"We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We'll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer."

Why fund a volunteer organization just as well as we fund the military?

    What is it with politicians?

Why do they reach for our money everytime that get an inkling of an idea?

Is there no limit to how much of our hard earned money they want to spend?

Spending our money is a lustful obsession for them.

I am sick of it !!!!!

Unless I am mistaken, based on what I have read, it looks like he is trying to encourage people to form malitias like they did in the 1700's. If I'm worng, somebody please correct me.

I don't have a problem with forming malitias as long as there is no government involvement.

When everyone was talking Y2K in 1999, I was considering the idea or possibility of forming a neighborhood malitia. It was in the event of a "worse case scenario". Based on comments that Bill Clinton made about wanting a third term as president, I formed the following theories:

    * If the situation got as bad as people were saying it was, being our military was scattered around the world, Clinton would have brought the U.N. on U.S. soil to maintain law & order.
    * I also was expecting him to indefinitely postpone the 2000 presidential election. The president has that power.

Fortunately, I was wrong about that.

Back to my point, a malitia has many functions. Sometimes they serve as neighborhood watch dogs, other times they help during disasters, & the primary function is to keep the government in line.

Reading the defenses of (for) Obama on this thread gives me the understanding that I've been lacking as to how the AC could garner enough grass-roots support for his ascension to his place of power.

There are a few who defend him with some modicum of logic, but most defenses are nothing but pure "my daddy can beat your daddy" responses; such as # 44!

Their apparent belief in his ability to rule this nation is akin to worship - if not worship.

I don't read WND unless an O'bamaite references that site.

Is there a difference between an O'bamaite and an Obamanite? Just curious since you seem so well informed on our erstwhile leader.

Since they are both fabricated terms intended to cause offence there really is no difference.
