CASSELBERRY, Fla. -- A police officer has sued the family of a 1-year-old boy who nearly drowned because she slipped and injured a knee responding to their 911 rescue call.
The young boy, Joey Cosmillo, fell into the family pool in January. He was resuscitated but suffered brain damage and now cannot walk, talk or swallow. He lives in a nursing home and eats and breathes through tubes.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't her job description REQUIRE HER to put herself in harm's way??
Are there not some kinds of laws/rules PREVENTING her from suing?
    I third this --:BangHead:

    oh my goodness!

It seems like something in her contract with working for the city would prohibit her from doing this.

    A couple of observations:

    1. The city's insurance and worker's compensation didn't pay for all her medical bills...why not?

    2. Anyone else notice the ad on the web-page for the personal injury attorney? Very ironic.

    peace to you:praying:

Of all the dispicable shysters!... the family "brought it on themselves" by calling for help for a baby in danger of dying. If he wins this case he'll be a multimillionaire (if he's not already) by haivng innumerable requests and choosing only the biggest money cases. If he doesn't-- hopefully nobody will hire him again to fix a jaywalking ticket.

The case has been dropped. And the city's insurance did cover all the medical bills.

If it's been dropped, hopefully that cop and shyster are both blacklisted.
