......BREITBART NEWS: It is well known that the Gang of Eight reached out to big business groups and amnesty groups in the process of writing the bill. When Sen. Rubio started writing his bill, did he reach out to you and other ICE officers for your ideas and input?

CRANE: Sen. Rubio never reached out to us. He surrounded himself with big business and amnesty groups, most of which were more interested in cheap labor and their own political agendas, and had no real concern for the welfare of immigrants, public safety, or the security of our nation. This while he ignored boots on the ground law enforcement officers who work within our broken immigration system every day and know better than any what’s needed to fix it. Common sense dictates that law enforcement be at the table when creating a bill like this. I think Sen. Rubio knew that, but actively chose to exclude us because of his own personal agenda.

BBN: Did Sen. Rubio meet with you voluntarily or did he have to be pressured into doing so at the last minute? Do you remember how you were ultimately able to secure the meeting? Did it take a long time?

CHRIS CRANE: It was definitely last minute as we met in the evening and they introduced the bill a few hours later that same night. It doesn’t get much more last minute than that. Was he pressured? I definitely think so. Not just by the public, but by some in the media as well. I think appearances on the Greta Van Susteren and Gov. Mike Huckabee shows are what tipped the balance and got us in. I think Gov. Huckabee was especially important in making the meeting happen, he was genuinely concerned that law enforcement was being excluded from the process and reached out to Sen. Rubio on our behalf. Many thanks to him for his attempts to help us.

So what you are saying is you have evidence that what Chris Crane said is false? Or you just do not care even if it is true?

He is saying that to him Breitbart News has no credibility. That is to be expected as Breitbart News has never claimed to be a balanced news source.

Rubio departed from the conservatives on immigration and the ICE officers are just one more confirmation of that. Also, you have to look at Rubio's real estate deals and you begin to see why Romney passed him over in 2012. For his age, Rubio is naïve.

It seems like, to some, the source is far more important than the truth.

This guy Crane was just venting his frustration because Rubio didn't consult with him. Then he implies he knows what's going on in Rubio's mind. It's just another shoddy piece of "reporting" by Breitbart. It's all hearsay.

Many times the source does matter.

Which is a huge problem for Rubio. The Gang of eight has no issue with meeting with big business who wants to exploit illegals for cheap labor, they had no issue with meeting with lobbyists who are pushing for open borders and amnesty, but he had a problem with meeting with officers on the front lines of the illegal criminal immigration problem?

It is not hard to deduce that they were all one sided and had an agenda to push. They, Rubio included, did not want any opposing views made known or to be confronted by them. Rubio and the rest of the gang of eight were only acting like obama who only surrounds themselves with yes men and sycophants.

Rubio's refusal to meet with them bothered a lot of Americans not just Crane.

If Briebart was reporting correctly what Crane said or did how is that shoddy reporting? I am sorry but all news agencies do that. It is in fact part of the reporting process.

I keep vacillating between Cruz and Rubio. I like Cruz's policy positions a little bit better but I wonder about his electibility.

As I have questions and concerns about Rubio's honesty and willingness to get in bed with some of the worst leftists in the democrat party while selling out the republican base.

His participation in the gang of eight means I will never support him. Ever.

Yeah, I hear ya. I put it down (the immigration bill) as a rookie mistake and hopefully he's learned from it.

Problem is we have no evidence that he has learned from it.

Don't think so. He is working too hard to obscure what he intends to do about immigration. (read his interview with Bill O'Reilly) He's being dishonest about it. I read him as an amnesty proponent all the way.

Are you saying it's not true? Or again, you just don't like the source of the truth? It's inconvenient for you and your candidate.

You're going to have to specify what you want me to respond to. Look at the headline: "Rubio BETRAYS Nation's Ice Officers". Yeah, that's untrue. That's an opinion. Rubio didn't consult with Crane. Big Deal.

But he did consult with those who want open borders and who want illegals to be hear to provide cheap labor. So his refusal to meet with not just Crane but Ice officers (as he represents them) shows he had already made up his mind. Now it appears some of his campaign funding comes from open border people and the chamber of commerce folks. What this does is brings to question his current rhetoric on illegal criminal immigration
