After being in Sri Lanka for almost two years, we have seen the salvation of a precious soul whom I have worked on for a year and a half, her name is Shiromi. She comes from a very strong Buddhist background. A year ago, I gave her a Sinhala Bible and without telling me, she has been reading it for the past year. Two months ago she agreed to come to services with us and it was there she told us about reading the Bible. That night she agreed to have Bible Studies in my office. The second week of disciplship (Gen 2), she said, "I believe this is true, what does a person do to become a Christian. Praise the Lord, an hour later, she bowed her head and received Christ. She told me, "What could I do, my heart told me that the Bible is true, I had to Believe."
We never pushed the issue with Shiromi, we knew it was a very sensitive issue, especially coming from Buddhism. Praise the Lord, it was not my teaching or preaching that brought her to Christ, but the Word of God that is quick and powerful. Because Sri Lanka is a country that is very new to the Gospel, we have very little material available to us. So, we turst in what has never failed, the Word of God.
Now, she is in the process of studying, so that she can bring her family to Christ. Amen, Glory to the Lamb!!

I appreciate it, but I am not sure there is much available in the Sinhala language in the USA. We have a very watered down version of the Bible and a lot of literature that the Assemblies of God has put out (which is not worth much). So, pretty much we are confined to the KJV, and the OV (which is the Sinhala Bible). We just finished putting together our first Gospel tract (geared more towards the Buddhists) but are lacking in the funds to have it printed at this time, maybe soon though.

Maybe you can work with others to have tracts made in the language. There a many here that have great tract's, maybe you can help translate them so we can get them to you. Other literature also.

Sorry, I must have missed this post. I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody that will save their soul. I no longer do ay true "street witnessing" and I've never used tracts or other material. Just the word in my heart.

I am willing to do what I can to help promote the kingdom...

Some people get uncormfotable when you get that excited over someone getting saved; (i.e shouting, ecstatic, etc.) I wonder how those people feel when they get to heaven....?

Please keep this new convert in your prayers, when you remember. We just found out that a few months ago she applied for a job in the middle east, and guess what, she just might get it. It will be heart wrenching for our family if this happens. All the salvations and baptisms we have seen here have been for two other missionaries, a few months ago we went on our own and Shiromi got saved. She was the first under "our ministry" "the Lord's ministry". I have prayed that the Lord will take her and use her to her fullest potential, may his will be done.
